people have heavily specced them with buildwars, and failed until the playoffs. that had hardly anything to do with player skill. maybe if you had a clue; but apparently you don't.
they're hardly bad either.

we didn't get out built by any means in the single elim. we just messed up with our strategy on it. Got too cocky/aggressive and pushed in without realizing they pushed a flag. Went in their base with no sigs up and just full wiped at a bad time and it was just game from there.

For a guild that is pretty much just a BYOB group of e-buds they did amazingly well. Their builds were original and interesting, and their performance was great.
I don't believe you are in a position to be calling anyones guild bad, either.

Lets see, current metagame is 8vs8 fights over the flagstand with most guilds have 0 options to split. Can't think of a metagame in the last year that was more suitable of obspike. Also the maps made it an even better choice at times.
Actually, best could have won gold if they hadn't pushed up too eagerly on Burning Isle and got AoE spiked by an A/D-spike (does that one have a name already? Like -way or something?). Would have been really funny if that would have happened tho.

I think this is the time to bust out the "whoru" card.
No, seriously, what right do you have to judge Best? They played for fun, and it paid off. They showed that there is still hope for fun left in this dying game.
This is almost as hilarious as the people in rank 800 guilds who are full of themselves shittalking rawr or dR.

sorry for wall of text, im bored at work
last monthly after seeing a bunch tombs nubs get gold trim, while sitting in vent, myself, will, matt, dan and shred vowed to try and do the enxt monthly as it was RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing pathetic to watch a bunch of nubs shit stomp "good" guilds.
we messed around the entire month, playing on ladder whenever we had 3 players (because all i want to do is actually play the game, not matter how bad the ppl im playing vs are), we signed up for every Daily AT when we had sufficient members, playing mostly builds we thought of 4 mins before the round, according to the hall that the at match was going to be played on. we played machiene gun ranger way (5 rangers, a OoV necro, a healer monk, and a random split character that i would play; sometimes shove warrior, othertimes shatterstone etc), a super RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up spirit build, hexes, and randomway. we beat a bunch of guilds, including winning a euro at during double reward point weekend, while just RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing around.
on friday night we had a huge plan on what builds we were going to play for the map rotation; we had decided we were going to obs flame most of it as its an amazing build in that its main weakness is hard to exploit in the current meta (LOL NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO SPLIT). because of the random map shit we were forced to pull builds out of our asses, as we did not count on playing on druids, wurms, or corrupted.
first match we won at vod so no one saw us on obs mode, 2nd match we switched builds to a random 3 warrior build that some of us had played before and were semi successful with, 3rd match we switched back to spike and Moko's guild tried to spec us for heavy physical and they resigned in 7 mins putting us on obs mode .
4th match i think was corrupted and we got dominated playing r spike and we overthought ourselves in our build choice assuming uF was going to spec obs flame.
5th match it switched back to frozen when we were on obs flame, and we royally jewed over eQ or w/e their tag is and won by a gank.
6th match was vs dR. most people do not know but my main, for the majority of the month was sitting in dR, as im friends with some of their members and i was cape leech pveing. i had told a few of them our plans for the monthly, of running obs flame spike etc, but nothing else. They specced for what they thought might be obs flame, or some type of random splitway that we normally dick around on. before the match we decided to go back to the 3 warrior build in an attempt to just out 8v8 them. the choice worked beautifully as their monk bars were not designed for heavy physicals (no guardians, only 1 aegis i think, no off monk defense) they only had one res sig at stand along with a single death pact. we pushed their shit in really quickly and surprised ourselves with a somewhat easy birth into single elim.
the next round was basically us RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing around, yelling at a certain someone who thought we were going to blow ass, and laughing histerically. we got [rezz] for our last match and decided to run a hilarious spiritway build. they in turn specced for obsflame spike, and once we stopped dicking around at about the 14 min mark, we chain killed their team and lorded it (also on a side note, half of our team was catted after we pushed into their base, was somewhat of an inconvienance )
as for single elim, we were overzelous and made a few crucial mistakes namely pushing in vs a heavy aoe spike, into a choke point without holding for a morale boost. lost the game at 6 mins, and it also didnt help that our 2 main strat callers based ressed
in hindsight we could have gone to the final four had we won that match, as the next opponent would have been the same build on a easier map to play it on. am i upset? heck no, saturday was the most fun i have had playing this game in a long time. what i did learn about the at's in general though, is that people are way too caught up in the mental aspects of the game. several guilds tried to spec us and each and everyone of them got dominated because of simple build changes. having the ability to have play the game carefree and have the players capable of playing multiple classes is what this game is all about imo, and i think that really showed in our matches.
tl:dr version, [Best] won a lot because other people are bad and think entirely too hard about the game. The 8 people in our party on saturday had never once played together before that day, only seperatly on a couple, few and far between, occasions. one trick ponies are no fun to play vs and should be easy wins, but somehow these guilds manage to still dominate the meta

I was guested for that guild, and our warrior lagged out at VoD during the split. Your monk had like 50 health left and eviscerate was charged, and he was raging on vent about American servers (lol).

I'm not even sure what the spec was for, simply because I personally wouldn't consider running dual LoD's against obs flame spike. LoD also seems weak in split situations. It looked as if it was a spec for physical pressure, but it didn't have very much defense elsewhere, so that's pretty much ruled out.

talking to dojisan last night, he said ur monks r dum (HI TOMMERS) and ran dumb shit, and something about daemon wanting to run a paragon, but being afraid we might run randomway, decided on a more split friendly build.
as for that first match, we sent all three monks back, so i dont think it would have mattered, if one of them died the third guy was almost there, and dual charge means we could have been there in about 15 seconds anyways.

I dont know why people get some caught up in buildwars, it just throws games away when your heavily speccing against teams that are capable of using multiple builds.
We played the whole tourney balanced just changing midline characters around for different maps, the only mistake was using 2 paragons against HGH but it woulda worked fine if the map had been burning instead of the complete opposite (wurms).

If you call an obs spike build "hope for fun", then the game has already died, divine
