Gaile Gray is gone!
She's moving from PR to support.
Great reason for all pvpers to celebrate, i immediately nominate Andrew Patrick as PR manager.
At least Andrew knows Monthly tournaments don't take 48hours.

PS: If this is an april fools joke i am going to be very disappointed.

I don't hate her, but I do agree Andrew would be able to do a better job than she did at the pvp part.

A lot of players came down hard on Gaile in the thread for that comment, but that really should have been the least of everyone's concerns.
In fact, if you count the 24 hours period for the GvG mAT and the following day for the 1v1 (Hero Battle) mAT that is, in fact, a 48 hour span.
You guys need to be a little more constructive with your criticism if you expect the developers to value your opinion and move the game in a positive direction.

I rather have him stay in his current role and let someone else take care of the PvE players. If Andrew needs to worry about them full time, he won't have time to listen to us.

TBH Gaile did a pretty good job catering to the PvErs in her PR. She just did a shit job doing anything for PvP, and ANet attempted to change that situation by instating AP. Gaile making that retarded comment about the monthly AT was just her overstepping her bounds.

I come back from class and see this thread. 11/19 posts got deleted by Moko. Good job guys. Keep it up and she'll be Legendary Post Deleter (7).
We'll see how Andrew handles the situation if he takes the job, since Gaile did a good job making PvErs happy.

I never really paid attention to her that much, but I never knew she had so many shortcomings with PvPers.

PR is not an easy job to pull off well. She wasn't perfect, but I wouldn't say she was bad at it - actually pretty good. The only problem is she only seemed to be able to look at things from the casual gamer point of view which caused problems for PvP'ers since the majority of balance issues are discovered and exploited by the players who are pro/competitive. Taking the input of what a casual PvE'rs idea of what balance should be in the same light as what a veteren PvP'rs idea of what balance should be is a huge mistake.
That being said, I wouldn't trust anything until after April fools.

She isn't really leaving...shes just moving. But thats besides the point.
I don't dislike the woman personally, but yea when it came to the PvP half of the game she was basically fail. I'm sorry to say that but its true. She didn't represent PvP players, didn't know their concerns, and likely didn't relay PvP information to devs. For PvE players she was great though and I commend her for that.
I remember a post by JR in a "community relations manager job description" thread that basically summed up everything, but unfortunately it got deleted. I suppose thats another conspiracy for another thread. ;(
I never really thought AP could fill that void, because he used to just post in threads "passing on info". I suppose he has been talking to us more recently, which is good news, but it is probably too late at this point. We needed something like this 3 years ago.

Can't say I'm sad to see her gone. She might have worked for PVE but she was worse than useless for PVP.

As of how long? A year at best, probably closer to six months. That still leaves the better part of two and a half years of complete failure to do anything for the PVP community at her feet.
