You would almost forgot, but we have a winner. Congrats to Rawr and StS, I could use the extra sleep. For a moment I thought ANet had screwed up again and we were playing on Burning instead of Frozen. But it turned out to be just a boring and slow match.
Anyway:
1) Rebel Rising [rawr]
2) Stealing Society [StS]
3) Mistral Edge [Me]
4) We Want Cookies [NOW]
5) Supernova Jpn [SpNv]
6) You Failed [uF]
7) Professional Athletes [HGH]
8) Amazing Strength [aS]
Didn't watch the other playoffs rounds yet, so no comments about that for now. But that really was a final I wished I didn't bother to watch.
[EDIT]I already regret it now, but I watched some more games.
rawr-Me managed to be even more boring then the final. Unless you need sleep, skip that match. Nothing happens until VoD, except an A/D not being able to use Guiding Hands to actually spike. He rather wasted it on auto-attacks. 2 kills in 19 minutes, of which one is a footman. At VoD rawr wins.
NOW-StS had a warrior of NOW dropping before the 4 minute mark. Not long after that StS won.
StS-uF was actually a decent match, until uF screwed up at VoD.

Gratz to Rebel Rising. But who's the person who said aS didn't play xD Thanks to him I removed the guild from my predictions and guess what I listed them rank 8. But ye just saw the final and it was not fun to watch. Have to watch the other matches tomorrow

The final was really boring, i was dissapointed with StS, they coulda built against rawr a lot better, especially on a map like frozen.
There was better games played outside the playoffs but they are all lost from obs.
dR didnt have much fun, i dont think they have dc's to blame either.

One thing I want to know, why was StS using "Incoming" in the finals?? Was it spike control or did it serve as just another shout to keep Aggressive Refrain on? I'm curious, because I always thought of that skill to be subpar since Anet blew it up with 3 nerfs.

Because rawr is a pure spike guild? Would make sense.

Indeed haven't laughed so much in ages.
On a side note StS' build choice in the final was pathetic in so many ways.

Id rather have DA, rawr are hardly overflowing with disruption and their warriors have no anti block.

We did have an err7 in the swiss that cost us a match. However our reason for losing the other 2 matches is poor play (and build choice), no excuses on those.

That match was hilarious. Easily one of the top 5 most bizarre matches I've ever been in.
Basically for the last couple months we've been in this dumb arms race with rawr over who can manage a better VoD plan. Sure we're able to split aggressively but rawr is one of if not the best team at splitting defensively; similarly rawr doesn't deal damage but is next to immune to pressure. So for the last month or two we've just run 8v8 builds into each other, because really we knew what rawr was going to do and that we were going to VoD anyway so we might as well play for that. Things had gotten really absurd in the last couple weeks, with us taking out more and more abilities for a game of Guild Wars in favor of more pure VoD stuff; glyph-sac Eruption and Fire Ele runners, splinter Dervs, you name it.
Well, rawr finally called us on that. I wouldn't exactly call the match an epic splitting game - it featured Polly catapulting some archers, a Paragon on the split, Langola running flags, and generally neither team even pretending that we could kill each other. It wasn't much, but because we had taken our ability to respond to splits out of the build, it ended up being effective anyway. Come VoD, we had our super VoD plan, and did manage to blow up their NPC ball reasonably well, but we had lost enough NPCs that we didn't have a meaningful wall to fall back into. Their build had an extra physical, which made it much more effective in that sort of slugfest, and eventually we just wore down.
Hats off to rawr for changing things up and pulling out a victory on it; we walked into it by becoming as predictable as they had been. Hopefully, this sort of gameplay becomes a trend.

May not be the most fun to watch rawr play but they are the best at what they do.
Who says rawr doesn't split?! Pretty sure Polly was laying down the smack on StS archers after running flags for a bit!
Congrats to rawr

Hey shitters. No one cares if you think rawr matches are shit. Sure, it might be boring watching them camping until VoD, but plainly saying rawr's matches are shit is not discussion. They have good players and great synergy in their build. And we all know Best > pretty much every guild. No need to farm +1s.
If you're jealous about not being able to play this mAT or going 2-5, cry elsewhere. Trying to act like you know your shit by trashtalking other guilds' playstyle without basis just shows how immature and bad of a player you are.

I think its less about how Rawr plays, and more about how Guild Wars plays. Nearly every game in this tournament was VoDway. The best VoD guild wins. Rawr was the best VoD guild in this tournament. Congrats Rawr!
That of course, doesn't mean the games weren't boring as hell to watch.
