Creating a Guild Build
Hello. Ever wondered, "How do I get my guild rank and rating good?" The main way is through GvG. However, if your guild is not very experienced in playing GvG, there is something that you can do to raise your chances of success in GvG. What is this something? Creating your very own GvG build.
There are many steps in creating a guild build, and so I will guide you through them step by step and discuss possible ideas to make your guild greatness, a reality.
Step 1: Creating an idea.
There are many ways to create a build, but, the best way to start out is to come up with an objective that you think would best win a battle. Some examples of these ideas include: Knockdowns, Interruptions, Power, Blindness, Disease, and one of the most popular, the SPIKE!!! Take a few ideas (ideas aren't usually as simple as this, try to have lots of concepts, but not too many, remember, there are only 8 people) and ask around, take a vote, and see which one stands out the most. This first step is the corner stone of the rest of the steps.
Step 2: Finding Elites.
The most powerful part of a build is (in most cases) the one elite skill. The elite skills tend to have powerful effects at not a very high cost. This powerful combination makes elites the best skills out there. So it is often a good idea to take each individual aspect of a build and base it on an elite skill. Choose carefully, these elite will make or break your build. Also, try to have a runner in there somewhere for the flag.
Step 3: Filling in the spots.
Once you have your elite skills chosen, start putting in combinations that enhance the elite skill. This will enhance effectiveness. For example, Searing Flames causes burning. If signet of immolation is used you will (I think, I'm not too positive on this) gain energy. Another VERY, VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT THING!!! DO NOT MAKE BUILDS THAT RELY ON OTHER PEOPLE IN THE TEAM!!!! Most build makers create builds that rely too much on one or two people, and when the enemy identifies those people and kills them, the team is usually as good as dead. (e.x. Monks) So, make singular builds that can survive and heal on their own. You get to take out monks and other people that aren't doing the main task and are doing a task that the people can do themselves. Overall, this gives a team at least 3 extra people to work with. Once the builds are created, post them somewhere or tell them to your guild so they can start working on getting them.
Step 4: TESTING
This can be the easiest, or the most disappointing part of the build process. Gather up your guildies that are going to be helping you. Be sure to tell them that it could take up to an hour or more before starting. Do a GvG to see how the build works for you. If you don't want to ruin your guilds reputation and rank, do Heroes Ascent, it basically works the same. So, there are 2 paths after this. Path 1: If you win your test you do it at least 2 more times to make sure. If you win those, good job, you just made a guild build! Path 2: If you lose your test, try to figure out what went wrong. Try another test to see if it was just a mistake someone made. If this wasn't the case and your loss was out of your control, try to figure out what was wrong with the build and change things. In both cases, ALWAYS ask your teammates what they liked or disliked about their builds. If they give suggestions, always try it out. It can't hurt, can it?
Once you have done all of the above, you have created an awesome guild build.
OTHER THINGS
There are other ways to create builds for GvG. There are so many ways, they cannot be counted. BUT. There is an very popular way of doing it. (besides my way of course) This involves creating one awesome singular build and massing that build. This is an easy way to get out of doing the steps above and I would not suggest it, mostly because it's simple. I'm not saying that it won't work, I mean, look at wolf pack, it's a decent idea and it follows this principle. All I'm saying is it is another way of creating a build. Good luck with your build making!

No offense, but guru is the only place where I could see a guy from North Tyrian Trading Company giving gvg advice . Honestly, the best way to get a good build is to take a build from obs from a guild whose style you like. rawr,uF,OG,dR are among the guilds you could get solids builds from. After you have the build, go through all the skillbars and make sure you understand exactly why and how each skill is used, and don't be afraid to modify to your liking. Of course playing multiple builds and making your own will help you improve, but to learn basics of gvg and understanding matches better you should start learning a top guild's build and try to understand why they play what they do.

Honestly, there is nothing wrong with making your own unique build, but I would try to gain a good understanding of GvG tactics before jumping into build making. Learn what top 100 guilds do to gain top 100, and either try to immitate it, or build off of it.
Edit: Is North Tyrian Trading Company even on ladder???????

Most of this guide is just plain wrong, though i had fun reading it.
You shouldn't write guides on things you aren't the least bit familiar with.
In before lock. +1 for me.

No.
If you're starting out make a build with 2 Wars, 2 monks, a runner, and 3 midliners. The key differences in builds is the midliners. Try things out. If you team is fine with offense but the team crumbles fast, use something like Ranger, Ele, Mesmer. If you're lacking offense, switch the ranger out for a Paragon. If you want to fall right in the middle ground for okay offense and okay defense, use Para, Ele, and Ranger.

No.
Never, ever run a 2 warrior build without a mesmer, Para/ele/ranger is a terrible midline. Also, don't run a ranger unless you can win games by splitting pro-actively(although running a ranger improves you in this regard and can win games in the future), because you will lose to a team running a paragon in pretty much every other way.
