When are you going to get a clue Anet.
So after having someone drop from the game two times two matches in a row I've came to the conclusion that Anet really doesn't have a clue. Having faulty reconnect systems the day of the monthly is stupid. Scheduling a giant 3rd anniversy celebration that no one gives two shits about on the weekend of the finalmonthly worth double the prizes in money is outright absurd, and having these pathetic servers that gimps one team with 500+ ping is...well I'm not even going to touch on this because after over 6 months of telling you about it it still hasn't been fixed.
Maybe by the time GW2 comes around you'll actually realize that there is no excuse for screw ups on your part. Great job Anet!

It doesn't make sense to have that anniversary this weekend. It could've been the last weekend, or the next weekend. It's just stupid.

I agree. Playing with 500-600 ping basically makes Dshoting anything w/ a 3/4 cast impossible unless you are using intuition to fire them. The 3rd anniversary is cool and all, but seriously, ANet didn't have to host it on the day of the final monthly w/ acknowledgeable prizes...

Anet has never been known for good planning (read: not being utterly retarded). Sure they could have made the afk 9 rings super duper fireworks weekend not the same day as the monthly, but they don't really care if they screw over a few guilds. They give out the same amount of money regardless.
Also the logic of Drelias is irrefutable. RA=High End GvG and the weekend is this weekend because this weekend is the weekend. Glad we can all agree on that.

I was wondering how long till a thread like this popped up somewhere.
It's ridiculous, Anet.
Anyone who thinks that grinding their lucky title is more important than cash prizes has a freaking mental problem.

Then they should have moved the Monthly. When you have a tournament with prizes up to $1,000 and such, having an event that completely destroys everyone's ping in a game where ping matter is just moronic. Whoever at ANet decided upon this is just stupid. That is all.

Exactly the point... no one was arguing that pvers shouldn't get an anniversery event, but having the last monthly for real prizes (also double prizes) in the middle of it makes no sense. I don't see how anyone can argue that.

ANet really failed to realize what the event would do to the pings of people in the mAT. The top team splits $8000 and some teams were put out of the running by the event. Moving the mAT and planning ahead would have been the best solution.
I can't believe Anet was so stupid as to not notice what would happen, and that so many people posting here lack the smallest amount of common sense.

Finally, no one's forcing you to play. If all you can do is complain, go play something else.

I was hoping a pve shitter like you would come on here and say something like this, because, frankly Anet thinks the same way. The time and preparation that goes into preparing for a monthly, then sitting through a 5 hour tourny, and not get top 16 because some pve shitters are all afk in the 500+ districts in the 9 rings farming their lucky/unlucky title is what gets to me. Not to mention there are major prizes from 50$ to 1000$. That's what ticks me off.
Congrats to dR though

Was there an err7 in the final again? My observermode was lagging that bad that it was impossible to follow it, so I gave up and will try on a more quiet time again. What I did got was that dR countered Me quite nicely buildwise.

Better than sitting on our asses being oblivious about the problem.
More monthlies have been decided by err7s than they should, and a lot of close matches have been decided by lag.
Since we are having an annual celebration, let's recap how much err7's have affected mATs over the last few months:
Sept: vZ had rawr rolled but took an error in finals. Lost finals as a result.
Oct: SpNv had an early warrior error vs DF in finals. Though outcome was debatable at first, this ensured DF a win. This was also the same monthly doji didn't load vs LaX and lost in round of 16.
Nov: HAnD had an err7 vs Me in finals. Me couldn't take advantage and lost anyways. Owned.
Dec: lol Mike is good at pressing enter battle.
Jan: I think this was the month SpNv err7 in round of 16, with sinsplit being a very strong build. Who knows how far they could've gone?
Apr: sup had a late err7 on mesmer vs dR in semis. Game was very close and sup could've won if the mesmer could reconnect. HGH also took a nonload and an err7 in a row in swiss and basically couldn't qualify.
This is just something Anet should pay attention to if they want to have good competitive events for GW2.
I'm sure many, many more matches in the top 16 were effected by errors where the person couldn't reconnect, but those were the few I remembered off the top of my head right now.
