We get a different average game for two weeks instead.
I am personally ok with some of the changes, but the fact that they are only temporary is completely retarded.

I'm shocked after reading that statement from Anet regarding not wanting to upset PvE balance. I feel shat on from a particularly high place.

Another warrior isn't a midline character unless he's a linebacker.
Before the update bsurge and paragon were more or less each others equal with bsurge perhaps being a little better. With current ward, and bsurge nerf, the bsurger gets A LOT weaker (to the point of near uselessness) and the paragon gets stronger with the aegis nerf.
So yeah, the "true" midliner pretty much just died.
Also the idea of a temporary skill update is RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing retarded, go die.

temporary skill balances will be for fun a while, imo. eventually, they'll just realise that they're lazy and revert it to a balanced state, or introduce a final (good) balance, which will stick around forever.
as long as gimmicks don't dominate metas, i don't mind meta shifting. (or maybe i'm just biased cause we have been running water snares for month non stop now =P)

True "non-Mesmer" midliner you mean? Speaking of Mesmers, running 2 of them is still an option. For other midliners, Water and Fire Ele can be good. There are some Necro builds that are useful as well, although I suppose any team build with a Necro is just something you'll frown upon.

I think dual mesmer might be an option now edenial is stronger again. As main replacement for the BSurge I've seen people try dual attunement, but not sure how viable that is.

If you run 2 mesmers you usually don't run a ranger.
Yes water ele is still possible but it's not without issues either, like being totally raped by enchantment removal and/or powerleak.

Not really... Aegis is a party wide block, making the entire team pretty much anti melee for a while.
Splinter Weapon did a bit too much extra damage (imo) and DPS was too good of a rez.

Never understood why aegis went to 10 anyways, DPS was pretty balanced at 3 sec, pretty simple to control, so what if it went off anyways, more often than not the next kill was on guess who [email protected] cast makes for a dead skill...

Aegis was reduced to 10e when its range was reduced to earshot. I am really curious what people will run as far as midline ele, trying to figure if it will go back to mindblast/blinding flash, or switch up to shatter stone/blurred vision.

I can easily see dual mesmer builds coming back. Edenial is extremely strong for the next couple weeks. Eles are extremely weak for the next couple weeks.
I still think the skills reverting and the not affecting PvE comments are the biggest news of all though.

Edenial is indeed strong but remember with ward and aegis nerf it's gonna be hard protecting your softies.

You just have to laugh at the fact that they're trying to work around PvE carebears.
I mean, it's funny - right?

The aegis nerf is terrible. Nerfing passive defense on monks does nothing except make midlines even more defensive.

With the new focus on edenial I wouldn't mind seeing a nerf to Diversion, specifically the crazy recharge time it adds, which too long for PvP. Like to see it dropped from +10...47 to +8...25 instead to bring it inline with Dshot and similar skills.

Temporary balance changes = Why don't we have PvE and PvP versions of skills yet?
Of course, as noted repeatedly, invoking "balance" for PvE is hillarious when Ursan is so retardedly overpowered. The changes seemed to be fairly minor towards PvE anyway, with the exception of Rit AoEs which could have been PvE compatible with better-thought-out changes (i.e. change a-rage to a DoT similar to Balth Aura)

Diversion is a 3 second cast.
I think the problem with the game right now is that losing a key skill is so detrimental to a team that they have to get diversions shut down. Back in the boonprot days, diversion wasn't nearly as strong simply because there's no one skill that's as vital as something like WoH, RC, or Bsurge today.

Because they have always been, and continue to be the most imbalanced class in "balanced" play.

I don't know about imbalanced, certainly the most mindless.
