Our grp (g7+, champ ranks, HA ranks) plays with g2 (maybe g3 now) ranger cuz he roxxx. We have never cared about someone's rank. But u must admit finding a non-retarded dedicated balanced players is almost impossible.
I play TA very often and I know everyone runs trash builds. The population of TA is very tiny and my overview huge.
From the eu perspective: wammos form their grps in en1 as well as gimmickers and hardcore gimmickers form in int1 for a change. There are absolutely no ppl forming balanced grps.
And pepe was joking. There is no such thing as "professional players" in TA. Also, he didnt state <g8 = scrubs. If so he would call himself a scrub

The trashbuilds are realy annoying..
Nowadays you almost only see 2 mo 2 sin or 1 sin and 1 r/d or stuff like that
its such a big dmg output and they kinda have 2 healers,... good exp balanced teams can win this (easily) but with 1 less experienced player your whole team fails...
IMO they just need to nerf the 2sin 2mo thing because I admit I played it aswell.. it's just sooooo easy to farm glad points with it...

Well to come back to the original problems, most of the gimmicks are related tpo the new professions, and nmot just to a handfull of skills. One gets the nerfbat, another will take it's place. In my opinion there is but one real solution, and that is to let players/teams choose to participate in only core professions PvP, or All professions pvp. It will solve a lot of problems, not all, but balancing will be more easy. And I bet most of the players will play core because its less boring, and less gimmicky.
Positioning will become important again, no permanent unblockable attacks, etc, only SoM, and some other skills need be dealt with from there on.

Run 2 me/n 1mo(what ever, but WoH with SB or anything to catch spike would be best) 1 R/p => /autowin
Well, I played it last night, and I must admit that it can roll everything except maybe Gothspike. It is rediculously strong vs balanced, hex teams, dual monk + shattering sin... you name it.
I'm just curious that why this build is not popular yet.

YES!
I'm so sick of gimmicks from every expansion class in 4v4, it would be a lot more fun to have a choice between core pvp and expanded pvp. Although, that might split the community up.

If you decide to run a build to just counter 1 build and eat dirt in every other match, what can I say?
And some RA teams run balanced. (lol)

Great post Pepto. There should be a sticky with this information.
You got pretty much all the common ta builds there.
Maybe add ride the lightning spike/shockwave spike which are starting to see more and more play.

Beating. Dead. Horse.
No seriously of course thats the best idea. The best idea is to remove everything but Prophecies. The best idea is to rewind this game 2 years. But none of that shit is ever happening so lets all sit here and cry about it. I personally am.

Lol the only thing that has to be done is reverting the last skill balance cuz that is what ruined TA. The last skill balance has moved TA very close to pacman. The irony of fate is all buffed skills which are ruining TA atm are not being used in gvg... gz on it izzy.

I love when people crap on the expansion classes, while ignoring the Necromancer's long history of varied and idiotic gimmicks, and lack of contribution to balanced builds. Oh, look which class those crazy skills are on now...

There are good skills in expansions too. I am liberal in what players can do, the game does not roll back in my case, but allows players to CHOOSE (although limited) what strategy they want to face. In that way people who like expansion classes can still use them in PvP, but my prediction will be that the community will choose core professions in the end. It may seem beating a dead horse, but in contrast to people who want to remove professions, i want to let players make choices. In this way the player base will democraticaly choose which form of PvP is most favored.
-Assassin ---> induced positionless play because of shadowsteps and the primary attribute is questionable (not overpowered) when mixed with energy attacks and scythes
-Dervish ---> the scythe is highly questionable weapon hitting all adjacents next to target, but also the damage range compared to hammer is doubtfull. Then they lack utility in that weapon. In combination with expertise of the ranger this becomes also quite "broken". One can just spam very powerfull attacks without any consideration, Thumpers are not even that broken as the amount of (good) energy attacks in the war line are limited.
-Paragon---> energy engine due leadership is bugged like soulreaping was before. Unremovable prots and unlimited number of chants/echos (when compared to weaponspells) that are not even visible on target. Furthermore you might consider the armor level a bit overdone for a ranged attacker, and the permanent IAS options combined with good attackspeed and the lack of the need to move when switching targets should be reconsidered.
-Ritualist---> unremovable weaponspells for the rest this class seems to be the least broken maybe, except for some broken spells and the spirits.

Yes necromancers had loads of gimmick stuff too, and still have some, but balancing one class is way more easy then 3-4 other ones in addition that already are based on a broken concept. Ultimately soul reaping should only be activated by deaths of players/NPCees/monsters, and make the animation of undead cheaper.

all you guys who want to remove the expansion classes are really pathetic...
Dervish isnt overpowered, it's R/D that you consider overpowered, not that it actually is but meh...
last time I checked Ranger is a CORE class!
R/W Thumper and R/P Spear Chucker are also considered gimmicky for some reason, they too are RANGERS!
Me/N and N/Me Signet of Midnight+Plague Sending is really overpowered and gimmicky as hell.
guess what? both the Mesmer and the Necro are CORE classes!
you guys cry about Wail of Doom a lot too, guess what? it's a Necro skill, CORE class again!
you guys love complaining about Shove spikes too. and yet again Warriors too are a CORE class!
ok so not all of the skills nor secondaries are core but all the primary professions and most skills are...
do you guys wanna turn back the wheel and play in Prophecies only with Prophecies only skills? that would really suck now that all the skill balances are based on skills from all 4 campaigns...
you guys want very limited options again?
I hope you guys know what you'll be getting with this...
old school Punishing Shot Ranger Spike and old school Blood Spike! is that what you guys really want?
didnt think so...
