It is builds like those that keep HA going... If everyone ran the same build, what would be the point playing seeing how the best team > ALL, and they would simply hold all day. Versatility is needed, and the current HA does not offer that...

I can tell you the new map objectives severly limit what you can take into HA. For example Cap Pt maps reduce certain elements of your build to RA lvl pvp.
Thumpertrash is really good in RA
A balanced build were ppl have to work together skillfully is not good split up (example is the monk backline of a build, N/Rts can split fine, RC monks cry if they get dazed and othe rmonk isnt around to draw it off)

Exactly, so this promotes the use of "specific" builds = bye bye versatility...
Like the 1000 post in "Bring Back HA"-thread, Too much conditions = no versatility

Well, maybe it's because noone know you! Most people now play with friends or a set of people from friend list that they have been playing with for quite a long time. Looking for r9/10+ players PUG isn't a very smart way. Indeed it's a waste of time. Try to be more friendly (mean you make more friend) and update new active friends at your play time zone. Or join a guild and play with your guild!

Killed you man is one of the older players in HA, maybe not so much one of the respected members, but then again no one is respected in HA because its nothing but e-peen flashing and trash talking to everyone. Gankfest in HoH anyone?
HA just keeps getting more idiot friendly every update. You needed team skill and coordination to win relic run. You need lots of that to win an altar hold.
You need some of that to win kill count, but mostly you rely on the idiotness of another team, you need very little on cap point, because that map is more build wars than GvG is. Takes a large amount of effort for a true balanced build to beat something like zerg or thumpertrash assuming both teams know that you have to cap shrines to win.
If we look at HA then, there were relic runs an altar holds.
THen there were kill counts
Now there is cap points.
I miss playing on sacred, and i skip unholy too much
(3-0 relic wins ftw)
I sort of miss killcount
(17-2-1 sort of wins made life fun)
But I am really really tired of priest maps, and cap points.
--------------
Killed you man, you would be sad to know that its hard to try new tactics within a guild sometimes as well, because people just want fame. Ive been trying an older tactic where you have two frontliners doing both pressure and spike. (that means two callers, not one). Lots of success when the midline can follow both callers, but its very difficult on them (i would hate playing midline for this too lol), and i might go back to simple 3-2-1 or massive fire aoe damage eventually if I dont want to develop this tactic either.
Why go back to simpler builds when this one shows great success and potential? The same reason everyone still runs hexway, legoway, thumpertrash etc. Because its easy, and it gets fame.

Ha was dead about 3 months before 6v6, all 6v6 did was make everyone leave in October instead of December.

Who wants to play with a bunch of elitist snobs (I might be generalizing but we know the vast majoritity is like this)? HA players killed it themselves by not allowing new players into it.

Elitism DIDN'T kill HA...
If it did, than why is GvG still going (somewhat) strong? Isn't Elitism in GvG as high as it can get? Did u EVER see a top 100 GvG guild "Pug" someone random non-rank/champ related guy in HA?
No, you did not...
Elitism didn't kill HA, PvE farmers did... (And about 1000 other things, meh, too much to mention, right?)
OMGZOOORS A BAMBI/WOLF/TIGER/PHOENIX I WUNTS WAN OF THOOOOS!!

People thinking that rank emotes = good groups is what kills me. Everyone has a tiger now, think about 3 months ago. The people with tigers now are people who had wolves before double fame weekend.
r9+ doesn't mean what it used to. It's not the fact that HA is dying, it's the fact that people need to reconsider who they play with, what they play, and HOW they play.
Good guilds and players will hold and farm fame regardless of what they're running. I whole heartedly disagree with people who say HA is dead.
As far as elitism ruining HA, that's laughable.
You don't make it into the major leagues by skipping there. You have to play in the minors first, get practice.
New players will have to grind just like everyone did back in the day, and complaining about it is a result of ignorance.
~Instead of wasting time on these forums complaining about r12+ not letting bambis in, you could be working on your wolf. Think about it that way.

Wow just wow.
HA is dead because of clowns like you Borat. You're not an oldtimer by any stretch of the imagination, your first appearance there dates from the relatively recent ritspike days, which you RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOd to no end like the next farmer. Original builds my ass. Players that farm simple one-trick builds like you and others before you have simply killed all the hope of ever an playing interesting game in HA. HA is (and always has been) flooded with seas of farmers. The difference today is that most of the non-farmers have now finally given up.
Priceless though to see someone like you bemoan the demise of HA. Irony FTW.

Fine, I might be giving more importance to elitism than it really is, but it certainly does not help anything, anywhere.
The whole 'feel' of the HA thing isn't nice (GvG too), and I am sure it is not any good at catching new players into them - most just give up at it or don't want to bother to get into it.
This 'high end PvP' system is bad, and it seems ANet agrees as they are changing it in GW2, if I remember correctly.
