I am down to only 260 keys in storage, that will teach me
Now if they could just come up with a method to convert my 1000+ Tournament tokens into Zaishen points!
/EDIT I just went and blew 50keys to look at the emote. It's ok, just a spear hits the ground with a little expanding circle. BTW. the price of Zaishen keys seems to have gone through the roof, there are people offering 10k each, lol at least they will dry up quick and people will have to actually do some PvP if they want the title or wait a long time to buy them.

I really don't see the point of this. Anyone who wants it badly enough can just buy the title, so this emote means even less than the hero one. At least to have a bambi you need to have actually been in a PvP arena. This isn't Anet coming up with a creative new PvP award, this is Anet giving PvE'ers something new to buy.
Hey at least maybe now people will just go buy Zkeys instead of swaying in HA.

For winning a monthly it's pretty bad. You can argue that rp=keys=in game money= real world money, but honestly I think the real world prizes were a bit better, and without the risk of the ban.

damn dude
4,500 RP?
That's enough for elite weapons/armor.
It's also 900 keys, which means ~4500000 gold.
Or 4,500 Zaishen rep.
lawl that's enough to go to Rank 5 of the Zaishen title in a month.

Anyone who is anywhere close to actually winning a monthly either has had that stuff forever or does not care, or both.
From ANet's point of view, this new prize scheme with in game stuff that is worth real world money, makes sense because it keeps money in the monthlies without them actually doing it. However, why don't they at least let you sell the stuff? It costs them nothing not to ban a person, and basically allows the players who are willing to pay real world money for in game stuff pay for the tournaments instead of ANET.

It may look that way on the surface, but the laws of supply and demand will quickly take over. You need a LOT of gold to buy even r1 of the title, keys are going for more than ecto at the moment, and the supply is going to dry up fast as people use them to gain title points. So there might be a lot of quick r1 purchases as the word spreads but that will stop quickly when the pool of stored keys runs out.

Monthly Tournament Reward Points have been increased. GvG went from 300 to 4500 and 1v1 went from 100 to 1500.

It's good idea that needs a little work.
Because the Z-rank is earned via using Z-keys, pure PvE players can get it with mountains of gold. That doesn't help promote PvP play.
Rather, you should get Zrank points when spending Reward points or Balth faction -- on anything. So you would get Z-rank points when you buy a Z-key, a Tournament token, unlock a skill at the priest, or purchase a new weapon/armor skin for your PvP characters.

I think they intended for it to be this way, so the PvErs have an emote too and don't drown the entire earth by simultaneously crying.
Anyway, even though RL prizes are a lot better obviously, it's not that bad.

Except for the increase in reward point, there have been no rewards announced yet. But if I have to guess, I think an everlasting version of that new transformer might be part of it.

GW.com states this:
Automated Tournaments starting in May 2008 will award brand new, in-game prizes and items, detailed below.

Warning:This is pure speculation.
I would like to think that they are planning on introducing emotes for other pvp titles (we know glad got at least looked at before), and to stop the explosion of QQ from the pve playerbase they added this first.
But who knows, i'm usually way off the mark.
