Please change the HA system
Sorry, this is just another complain thread. I am not a ranked player in Hero's Ascent. I would be...if i had the chance. I can NEVER get into ONE single group unless it's random way, i tried random way 66 (YES I COUNTED) times TODAY, didnt win ONE SINGLE MATCH. I try to get into groups but they wont let me in. All i am asking is to have the high ranks play against the high ranks and the low ranks play against the low ranks so we at least have a chance of gaining our title that we want so dearly. Now i know some of you guys are high ranked that are gonna post on this thread, let me say this, you deserve to play ppl that are ranked as same as you, not beginners and massacre them.
Please leave your comments, i really dont care if you flame

Rank doesn't mean skill, everyone knows this. Rank means experience, which is now more important than ever in todays objective-based HA. So when MY team of r6+ people makes it to the courtyard i don't have an unranked unexperienced randomway scrub running around like a headless chicken searching for their PRIEST. Their priest! COURTYARD!! Plus i don't have to waste time slowly explaining the details to them instead of discussing tactics with the people who have a clue. 98% of the time, higher ranked people know what to do on each of the maps. That's the only thing that rank means.
As far as people playing only with people the same rank as them - absolutely NOT. HA is dead enough as it is, there's enough skips / missing parties / etc. That'd just make it worse and is entirely unnecessary.

I'm seriously not being sarcastic. I'm working on r3, but all I ever get is Sway which works sometimes, but I rather have a party that knows what they're doing and win HA.

rank is a funny thing. a player could have earned that pretty emote 2+years ago, during one of those double point weekends or by use of some gimmick build, but ofcourse those factors dont come into the end result.
a more accurate system would be to show ingame per player a rank against time graph to exactly pinpoint consistanct, activity, and any suspicious number spikes due to gimmick/point bonus etc.
as for sway, the rising qq inevitably always forces izzy into nerf overkill mode. you may want to turn up the volume if he misses the mark in the next update, but untill then not much can be done.

It's dead as it is because it's like a gentlemen's club.
New people don't get in because nobody helps each other, yet these same people complain about how dead it's getting.

anything over rnk3+ I dont count
If you could show rnk1, id take that
most people want rank 3 just to show they've BEEN in HA before
getting ranked normally requires one of three things:
1. Having a high ranked friend who can sneak you in
2. Finding a group of unranked players who can work together, and frequently
3. Joining a HA starter guild, yes there are guilds out there who take in new members to HA (personally the easiest imho, then again I run one of these guilds so heh ^^)
Not being ranked doesn't mean you have the run randomway, at the end of the day theres always the fotm, but then again a good way to get fame is farm the fotm

lol, i gave up trying to up my rank a while ago, for this reason only. This is also why i quit my GvG guild when they tried to switch to HA, 40% of people are elitist asshats, and 40% of people are scrubs with gimmick builds.
but i love the other 20%, if only we could clone them........

If you can't get into a team, join a guild or START YOUR OWN TEAM. Stop complaining about rank discrimination, make your own team and let people in regardless of rank, but make sure they run the right builds. How is this a difficult concept to grasp?

Stop QQing.
How do you think all the high ranked players got to r3?
as a r9 player i'll tell you.
instead of sitting around complaining about how broke HA was we found a guild or a group of people to play with consistently.
If you really have as much skill as a r6 player like half the unranked kids think they do, when you make it into a ranked group you'll impress them and they'll ask you back. If you suck they wont.
Yes rank=skill.
and yes a r6 balance player could possibly have as much skill as a r9 IWAYer but a r6+ anything has more experiance than an unranked player simply because they know what to do on the maps.

my guild recently joined up with a HA alliance. The comment i heard on TS yesterday was
"who would have thought that 3 months ago we would be regularly getting minimum 5-6 fame per session".
That might not seem like much, but for me to actually get a group where we get fame, is good enough for me at the moment. I am only <1 rank newbie to HA who has played scrubway / randomway with no Vent or TS and who currently now has started accumulating rank with a group that regularly does HA with TS.
The comments i hear are...
"oh, we are up against Lightbringers (fictional name) team again... damn... lets wait for him to frenzy... wait for it wait for it... frenzy on... spike. LOL"
or
"damn, not "Big killer" again. I'm Targeting Mia Mesmer. By now they should know that we only every target Mia."
"Who else can we target?"
"You are right, maybe we should target Mia and hope they think we are targeting someone else"
From what i see, it;s all about who you play against,,, knowing your opposition. Ranger spike... opki... hug the walls. Move upstairs... move downstairs, get under the bridge. etc etc. First time i have ever taken it up against a rank +12 leader playing Telespike (Ranger + A/D) and we lasted nearly 10mins.
i am no expert, but i think you should listen to some of the experienced people above. rank doesn;t mean skill... i think it means knowledge, confidence and knowing what to do.

rank doesn't equal skill in some cases but only as a refrence you can go by from a person you've never played with before especially in some situations
(ex. monking) i've played with some of the best and worst. So it upon you to get out there start your own groups and play don't wait for others GL yall again if yall need any help do be afraid to pm me TRUST ME i don't rage ( only at one person your took 5 mins litterally to aura me) and he was rank 10 thats says somehting upon rank.

Until sway starts appearing in gvg, Izzy isn't going to nerf sway. No one cares about TA/RA/AB/HA/HB. The only two things Anet cares about is GvG and PvE.

I just died laughing. Rank does not equal skill. At r3 I was infusing in r10 groups and doing very well. My rank has nothing to do with my reflexes and my common sense on how to use my skill bar. The only thing rank means is you've prolly been past the first two maps and acutally know some sort of tactics for them.

Eww meta. I've gone from r0 to r9 in a little over 4 months without meta. It's not hard to get rank. Talk to people, ask them if you could join their group (even if it's a higher rank than you). Be nice and polite, if they're nice back add them to your fl and talk to them occasionally. :\ Don't fail at your bar either, if you have questions ask.
If you do form your own groups whisp me, and if I'm not busy I'll come monk.
