you're not moving forward if you're turned around and running backwards away from someone....
it was just worded badly.

I love it when people "Run" backward. It virtually makes them as easy to hit as a target standing still and you get to bull's them for more domage.

"i'm terrible at PvP, help"
Help yourself more. :]. Look around, wake up, grow a brain. Is harsh, but it doesn't take Einstein to hit B and observe what generally works and what doesn't...

What generally works at GvG/HA oh great, amazing and uber genious.
My advice: play with a coordinated team if you´re planning to be a PvP warrior.
Warriors in GW arent teh almoghty worrias you probably played in other games. Here, warriors focus on presure damage, though they can spike too. But, in the PvP you usually play, warriors are weak because there are too much anti-melee crap and you probably wont find a monk.
So, dont play a Warrior if you dont mind to go with a healer. This is mi second advice.
My third advice is: dont run what you run in PvE
My fourth advice: Watch out of the elitists ( ala Emote Spammers)

How do you "run" backwards in this game?? If you mean running away, aka fleeing, thats different.
Moving backwards and sideways isn't considered fleeing, because Bull strike used to only work on fleeing opponents and that was the way to avoid getting knocked down when you were kiting. They eventually buffed Bull strike to "moving" after people complained it was hard to Bull strike someone.

You cannot run backward. I quoted run because I knew it made no sense. Moving backward is a pretty dumb idea in general.

Thanks for that great advice, what would I do without it? You can completely judge whether or not I'm intelligent by how well I play PvP in Guild Wars.

If it gets you into a good position, then its not a dumb idea. It also does not count as fleeing, and if you get hit while fleeing, its autocrit, so sometimes moving backwards to adjust positioning is a good idea.

bull's strike will work on any target that is MOVING the instant that it hits.
GW also treats any hits to the back of a target as autocrit. the target does not even need to be moving for it to happen.

Or you could just re-position faster by just clicking where you want to go instead of letting that warrior frenzy into your face.

You've picked yourself one of the most hated classes for RA, mate. Not "hated" as in "despised", but as a profession that gets stuff thrown at a lot.
First thing first, like someone else said already, don't cripple your character if you can help it: if you can't get easy access to a good shield, just roll a PvP toon and make it.
Second: losing is perfectly normal, even more so in RA. Player skill counts to an extent, but if you're a monkless team dealing with e.g. a lolsin, a spirit spammer, a magebane ranger and a stance monk there's little you can do unless they suck balls.
Third: always carry a resurrection signet unless you're a monk. You'll be raged at if you don't.
Fourth: you're terrible at PvP, so what? You'll get better as long as you keep trying and ignore the retards calling you a noob.
Fifth: be humble and eager to learn. Don't refrain from asking your teammates what you did wrong, or whispering the guy who just killed you how exactly he did that.
