We placed 17th with the exact same tiebreaker as dangerous pumpkins, who made the top 16 and got to keep playing. The difference? Apparently their higher ranking on the ladder. And I used to think the ladder means nothing...

Felt bad for StS. Seemed like they played close to a perfect game pre-vod, but weapon of warding for gold I guess. In the predictions thread I had rawr for 1, StS for 2, but after the skill changes I switched StS to 1, rawr to 2. Owned

ladderrank is important for tiebreakers. i personally don't know dP's, nor your tiebreaker, but that's my guess. but /shrug
if it's equal, i got no clue, maybe the calculation was buggy again and didn't update? 0_o

Depressingly enough, according to the official rules, ladder ranking is indeed used in cases where tiebreaker points are equal.
It doesn't make missing elims because of ladder rank suck any less.

It used to be wins -> opponent's ratio -> QP -> ladder rank for mATs, but they changed it for this new tournament series. Guess they just didn't like RIP either.

As long as VoD stays the same, hyperdefense will always win.

Looking over their build though it isn't that defensive compared to what they have run in the past and compared to what other teams are bringing. It has what, an extra weapon of warding and protective and 2x weakness.

They still have a really defensive playstyle. And Izzy can't nerf playstyles, although he keeps trying. So it is more about how they play their build then about the skills in it. Always has been that way tho. And I'm not blaming them for it, the format just asks for it.

I wouldn't say Anthem of weariness compares to Enfeebling blood but thats not really important. Either way as DutchSmurf said its not the skills anymore its VoD and the playstayle that current VoD supports.

Locally prevent gwBBCode parsing: Encase what you don't want to be parsed with tags [ pre] and [ /pre], e.g [ pre][ EW][ /pre] => [pre][EW][/pre]

BSurge + Ward or Blurred -> 2nd Warding, 2nd PwK, Enfeebling Blood, Recovery
Motigon with Shields up and wy -> Cruel Spear para with Anthem of Weariness and Brace Yourself
Dom Mesmer -> Signet Linebacker
W/Me Pspike -> Hammer Warr
It's pretty much the same amount of defense, the difference is this new build possibly has an even stronger spike.
