The update is actually here
And obviously its RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up. On the temple of balthazar and isle of the nameless skills show on pve versions. I think its pretty amazing how i have no pve characters (none that i ever use) and still have this skill seperation RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing me up.
WHY DO I SEE PVE SKILLPROPERTIES ON MY PVP CHARACTERS??!!!!
I want a button that just always always puts skills on pvp version. That, or just make the entire battle isles pvp version, cause this is gloriously gay.
Yes, and this did deserve a new thread.

Its incredibly annoying and this is where everyone tests their protoconcept builds. Anet RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing up here just pisses me off tremendously.

I definately agree on the first part, but i'm just incredibly annoyed how RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up this is. The moment they introduced balth isle 2 years ago ive been making my builds in that area being able to test them straight away, now i have to go to RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing random arena to do so.

while kaon is an extremely annoying individual he is right
why the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO is great temple considered "pve", where exactly are people going to test builds/spike damage without having to form completely, enter the match, take time tweaking, enter again, etc, etc, etc
if a pve'er wants to test something they can...hmmm, do it in pve?

get over it, seriously. i have enough faith that anet will change this because the temple was obviously implemented to be a pvp skill environment for testing, i have never seen or heard of it for anything else.
just because they dont get it right on the first try doesnt mean theyll NEVER CHANGE IT EVER. its a little inconvenient, but just have a little faith and a little patience.

Maybe I'm just retarded, but can someone explain to me what great temple of balth, random arenas, heroes ascent, team arena, and the guild hall all have in common? I'd gladly take the 60k+ a year fools salary plox.

You know what.
The problems at arenenet is basically equilavent to the problems at my own company.
Either they RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO up because of a lack of direction on the part of head office etc or soething gets shafted. In our case its loss of labour budgets so that our outlets get arse raped if they do anything slightly above normally because they have nothing spare to cope.
In arenanets case its the case of PVP getting shafted because PVE is where the money is at. Which is totally backwards because PVP is where this game shines and just like at my own place we would shine if money was spent on the right things.

Regina says right there they are working on it. Personally, if i was a developer I would wait as long as possible to implement this, just because I know it would annoy all the whiny little bastards. I'm sure it's a catastrophe for you people but just bear with them.

Rofl. It isn't a catastrophe (not yet at least). We simply think it is a joke that these things were not thought of before release.

I had been under the impression that the PvE skills in Isle of the Nameless was a bug, but apparently it is not.

That's pretty ridiculous.
Isle of the Nameless/GtoB is part of the Battle Isles, the PvP focused area of the game - pushed off into that little corner of the world. It makes absolutely no sense to introduce this with PvE skills, when it is specifically for testing capabilities and effects. It is PvP where this kind of testing and detail is really important.
Admittedly PvE players use it also, and if possible you should have introduced some kind of toggle that allowed you to switch between the two types in that zone. However, were that not possible the default should absolutely have been PvP skills.
I think the motivation behind this change was fair, but absolutely everything about the implimentation bugs me. It has not been well designed or introduced to the game, and is unintuitive, invasive and frustrating. The community team absolutely needs to start opening better channels of communication with players and evaluating approaches earlier.
It's fairly obvious that Guild Wars is operating as a sandbox for the sequel, but seriously Anet, you can do better than this.

In Anets defense, the impact of a patch can be vastly different between conditions on an isolated test server and on a live server. It sounds strange, but I have personally experienced the randomest things breaking on a live server shouldn't have - however, this was not a bug.

So, apart from the bad things, let's take a look at the skill updates. Oh wait, they're just as bad, it's the same as before last tourney. *yawn*
