I've seen some of your R5 Glads in International Districts and played against your teams quite a few times. I'm just curious as to what guild you reformed under? Thanks

This is why it's so easy to "farm" gladiator points in RA, while it requires more skill to reach long streaks in TA.

QFT. Moreso, if you're half-decent with boonprotting (kiting and understanding build is more than enough for RA), simply roll a boonprot and chances are that you'll farm RA consecutives extra-quick.
And yeah, I think Glad title should be TA exclusive. If really needed, ANet could introduce RA exclusive title called "Lucky bastard".

Things sure have changed a lot haven't they? It's funny to read over all the remarks made by some of the first competitive TA players. If the title would have started out with the incremental system it has now, the titles people are wearing now would warrant much more respect imo.. RA glad farming got nerfed 2 years too late.

The Gladiator max title move to 40,000 was crazy. A lot more people would try and play for max title if it was actually achievable! I fail to see what possible benefit moving from 10k to 40k for max title did for either A.net or the players. Anyone know why they did it? Can it be undone? I would have thought something like this would have been more practical.
Rank Title Points needed
-------------------------------------
1 Gladiator 50
2 Fierce Gladiator 100
3 Mighty Gladiator 200
4 Deadly Gladiator 500
5 Terrifying Gladiator 1,000
6 Conquering Gladiator 1,500
7 Subjugating Gladiator 2,000
8 Vanquishing Gladiator 3,000
9 King's Gladiator 4,000
10 Emperor's Gladiator 5,000
11 Balthazar's Gladiator 6,000
12 Legendary Gladiator 7,000
Even 7k might be too high for max considering GW2 will dry up the GW player pool.

I actually would like to see them just make it 50k, and you get 1 every 2 wins, and an additional 1 for every 2 wins.
So..
2 wins = 1 pnt
4 wins = 2 pnts (2+1=3 total)
6 wins = 3 pnts (3+2+1 = 6 total)
8 wins = 4 pnts (4+3+2+1 = 10 total)
10 wins = 5 pnts (5+4+3+2+1 = 15 total for a 10 win streak)
Maxes out at 5 pnts every 2 wins at 10.

That could work, they have to hugely increase the points for consecutive wins (or reduce the number of points required for the higher level titles) to keep people motivated.
I don't know why A.net insist on making PvP max titles unachievable with the exception of the Kurzick/Luxon one, it just stops people trying.
I have 3 accounts, two are Gladiator r3 that were earned back when it was 10 wins for a point, and the 3rd account is almost r5 but mostly earned since it became 5 wins per point. I actually think it takes more hours (a lot of it waiting for matches) to get a title than prior to the Sep. 2007 changes. Yes, 5 consecutive wins for a point is easier than 10 was, however now you only get 1+2=3 points for 10 consecutive, but the title points requirement was increased by 4x which means that you need to be getting like 15 consecutive wins to keep pace with what 10 were worth previously. Sure the 9 wins and die for zero is gone, and you get the big runs every now and then to boost points per day, but I am not seeing enough r7,8,9 title holders in the staging areas to prove it's actually working.

That's because there aren't many g7/8/9s playing anymore, because TA is absolutely horrific with the current meta. And yes, I thought it was a bad idea to change the title to begin with, but PvErs were unable to get gladdies, so they had to make it easier.

I recently got R2 Gladiator with the new system and I have to say, it took me less time to go from r1-2 then it did to get to r1 (i basically was half way when the change happened taking me to just over r1).
Personally, I dont mind having a higher ranked title, but i wish it was harder.

Yeah, I have started doing more HA lately, something I have avoided in the past, but the current GvG and TA metas are not much fun, so at least with HA the meta is quite beatable. RA is ok to pass the time, but the point wining rate there is unreliable. I don't have a gripe with them making the lower level Gladiator titles available to PvE'rs, at least they will hopefully get slightly better at PvP in the process and maybe even fuel other PvP categories. I think they tend to stick to RA though looking around the titles in the staging area, so the PvE influx doesn't do much for TA.

When they changed the title, I believe it was x3, but I am not 100% sure about that. And I think the new title gain system serves it's purpose. RA is now less rewarding than TA.
I just hate it when I have to leave after 20. But I suppose having a life is never good for getting titles
