@Riotgear & moriz:
Yeah? That's the whole point. If believe you can control the conditions, then it's good business. If you can't, you fail. 4-man teams are organised enough (you can fit like 4 people in it). If you don't want to organise, then your condition-way will more than likely fail.
It's nothing new. Haven't you ever run condi heavy teams in TA? It can work in 4v4 just as well as 8v8. I don't see the issue with 4vX.
If mobbing (or effectively, having a security blanket) is your thing, I can see why there might be issues with it. Other than that, I still fail to see why there needs to be a 'goodwill' agreement for not using Rotting Flesh in your strategy...

I tend to condi my enemies instead of my allies.

Because it can swing a fight both ways. Double-edged swords are triple-edged in AB since comminucation with your allies is restricted to a minimum (PUGs on vent. Now that would be a riot).
Scenario: Kurz Nec stands in a mob at Grenz res shrine (they were apparently very determined to protect it), casts his STD on me ( <---- lonely little Sin). I suicided by shadow stepping straight to their NPC Monk... that was the beginning of the end for them. Outraged Kurz cursing that Nec on global for minutes afterwards, bloody hilarious

SOI has seen usage in various PVP to utilize spells at its full blast without the mesmer investing in that spell's attribute. This is just another cheap build which aims to cap a shrine within 5-10secs. Its primarily used for shrine capping.
[skill]Auspicious Incantation[/skill][skill]Maelstrom[/skill][skill]Searing Heat[/skill][skill]Fire Storm[/skill][skill]Signet of Illusions[/skill][skill]Storm Djinn's Haste[/skill][skill]Ether Feast[/skill]
Cast AI first, then SOI and start off the chain with Maelstrom, Searing Heat and then Fire Storm. Storm Djinn's Haste is there to help you reach the next shrine faster or escape your pursuers since you are pretty much useless in anything but shrines.
The eight slot is dependent on each individual's preference or situation. You can either put in a snare skill or maybe deep freeze if you want to be able to cap warrior shrine or just want to trap mobs or minions for your AOEs.

since this surprisingly hasn't gained much popularity despite its effectiveness, here's the shove assassin:
dagger=12+1+1
crit=9+1
tac=9
shove {e}
falling lotus strike
horns of the ox
falling spider
twisting fangs
shadow walk
dash
healing signet
run full survivors with 2 vitae runes, and remember to use a tactics shield for full benefit. you only need a pair of 15^50 vamp daggers, since this build is guarranteed to have zero energy problems.
the main strength of the build is not its outright damage. rather, it's strong because begins the combo with two KD's, ensuring that whoever you happen to fight won't be able to respond except with shouts and stances.
of course, that it has an on demand 650hp, 86AL (96AL vs one type), and very good mobility helps too.

I wouldn't run a Shove sin because it's useful only every 20 secs, which isn't good in a 12v12 format with lots of npc's.

Considered Savannah Heat instead? Having really fast casts and high-power AI is nice, but Storm Djinn's and Maelstrom both work fine at low attributes and it'll give you a substantial boost in clear speed.
Also, Fire Storm is bad, nothing ever stays in its tiny radius for long, including NPCs. Use Taenei's Heat.

It actually works surprisingly well. I use it mainly in a skirmish situation, as shrines take a bit longer with it than I'd like. Most people you hit with the combo drop instantly (at least they do for me), and a kill every 20 seconds isn't bad. Not to mention you're not exactly easy to kill.

Spider before Lotus is the way to go. You should still have enough energy for the combo with full survivors.

if you go dash->shadow walk->shove->falling spider->horns, you'll find your energy to be at 0 with full survivors... unless you've scored a critical hit.
personally, i'd rather be absolutely certain that my combo will have no energy trouble than that little more degen, but that's just me.
the good thing is, the combo allows you to switch it up depending on the situation... but i'm always too lazy to do it

I always think that running Savannah Heat on a fire ele is a clown. Non elite Fire AOE + Rodgort Invocation + SF always do the job faster. And you still have some offensive capability against mobile targets.

Why would you run 2 evishock war if deep wound doesn't stack?

Hi, im slightly new to Guru but, not guild wars.
Anyway this thread is about builds not me introducing myself.
I've looked around for awhile after thinking up this build and I can't find it anywhere, so I thought i'd share it with you all
E/N
Earth Magic 12+3+1
Energy Storage 12+1
Curses 3
w/e other runes/insiginas you want
Enfeeble
Stoning
Glowstone
Obsidion Flame
Energy Blast (Replaceable)
Glyph of Restoration (or Aura of Restoration)
Armor of Earth
Elemental Attunement {E}
I start with Enfeeble because it puts weakness on them, then hit them with stoning which knocks them down if weakened, followed by Glowstone to get +10 energy, Obsidion Flame, then Energy Blast.
Basically I go in order of my skill bar, and if I feel like im going to get attacked or am getting attacked I put on Armor of Earth for +62 Armor. You run slower but only 12% which isnt noticable unless you're being chased.
I personally Prefer Glyph of Restoration over Aura but you can swap those if you feel the need.
Energy Blast is kinda there as a place holder I was thinking about putting a running skill in there but I like the extra dmg
I havent lost to any ele yet, except a maelstorm ele which was my fault for not realizing I was in the maelstorm >.< the only problem is the chance to miss with stoning/glowstone but most people stand still/run in a straight line for me so I dont have too much trouble
anyway tell me what you all think, or changes to the build.
