Rawr, Roar, Grr!
---Entertaining bit---
*Voice of a infomercial guy*
Hi, I'm Chip You-Betcha, and I'm here to talk to you today about ragers. Yes, those nasty little buggers in HA. Don't you just want to squash them with a giant Rage-Swatter? 'course you do! The only problem is no one has invented it yet...Until now!...I bring you....the RAGE SWATTER! Equipped with spines, needles and a steaming hot flash end to really give those nasty little critters something to be mad about! Call today and you'll get not one...not two...but THREE Packages of Rage Swatter! Give your friends! Your family! They'll absolutely love 'em! Call within the next 10 minutes and shipping if FREE!!!! Phone lines are now open.
*Says a whole bunch of stuff really fast about not responsible for any self injuries and such*
---------------
A long story short, it took me 2 hours to finally be able to click the Enter Battle button for HA forming a Rspike group because people didn't have vent or didn't want to get on. 20+ people raged.
---------------
Ok, this isn't a QQ thing, well maybe a tiny bit....what I really want to know is...
Ragers...Love 'em?...Hate 'em? When people rage do you ever get a bit annoyed at it? or do you think they had a good reason for raging? Or maybe they raged just because it was taking too long, even though you only needed one more person. Do you resent them in anyway or think they had a good reason for quitting such as the team sucked, bad coordination, etc etc.
In my opinion if the team is going terrible, raging is fine, but I don't think people should rage when a team is almost done forming. In plan english... What is your *****OPINION***** on raging, any exceptions to what makes an acceptable rage? is there such a thing as an acceptable rage? People should rage when they feel like?
And...
Questioning the leader. When you join a team, don't you therefore accept that you're gonna have to run what you're giving? Sure you can say this and that might be better than this or that, as like a suggestion...but when people argue with you like "I'm taking this, I like it better blah blah." and they just don't want to run exactly what you give them. In plain english: Should people run what they are told, and if they have objections they should just leave instead of trying to prove something?
And...what are some of the annoying things do you hate having to deal with when you're the leader of the group, things that just frustrate you? Would you rather not be the leader? Or do you think nothing will go right unless you lead?(I feel like that a lot >_<)
And no one yell at me for making this thread please, I'm just curious...
FOR THE LAZY PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT TO READ ALL THAT:
What don't you like about leading HA groups? And what do you think of ragers and their reasons for raging(Good, bad, don't care)

I hate it when people rage before you make any adjustments to the group after a loss, and i also think that you should play what is given to you, my old guild ran a spike, and we had an E/Rt, if i could find the bar i'd show it, it was a shatterstone snare, pretty simple but depending on the quality of our monks we would change between Flesh of my Flesh and Death Pact signet, and people would constantly complain about it, and then not use it beacuse they didn't like it, in that case i would rather someone leave.

I'm surprised it's that bad! I always play in a groups from friends list with vent so I don't see the PUG side of the problem. We can have many wins in a row and then come up against a streak of teams that are just too hard to beat with the build we have chosen run, that's just a bit of random bad luck it gets you down but it happens in all PvP, the players must accept the highs and the lows. You probably have to try and include more people that you already know to minimize the rager problem, i's fueled by anonymity, just like forums flames are.

I often find myself in the same situation.
HA is inactive as it is. To make it worse, the only people left are swayers/bad people.
They just wanna go in, and button-bash a bit.
So often when I form (R9/10+) PUG, I usually get 2-3 people leaving. I don't mind tough, because U know 2 things for sure:
1. Those people ARE bad, and you really are better off without them, than with them.
2. The other people will be better in overal. If not, atleast they "try" to stay and make it work, try and atleast have some fun...
HA is dead, no doubt, I predicted this happening a year ago in these forums. EVERYONE knew it was going to happen...
The only people playing right now, are PvE'ers who want their Tiger/Phoenix or high ranked people who desperatly trying to get an even higher rank.
In other words:
Remove the Hero title + emotes and HA will have about 20-30 people left playing it, hands down, actual number.

To beat GANK:
Have more fire eles/hex necros than they do.
To beat AMp:
Have more Rspikers than they do
Geez, how did u not figure that out yet?

Any yet it takes usually less than a minute to get a match regardless of what time I play. And anywhere between 5-45min to get a GvG. A lot of the GvG'ers I play with are now turning to HA, as it much easier to get a match. Most of these people already have a reasonable emote, they just want to PvP!

That's GvG's inactivity tough. I obviously didn't count those in. Mostly even they only play during noob hour.
The day I count "noob hour" in as a part of HA, is the day I will uninstall GW.
ANYONE can get to HoH, hold HoH with the most random build at noob hour... On a regular basis...

Know what I like about HA?
Getting a PM saying "need x id2", rolling it, and going.
Get a friends list or a guild and stop pugging.

The problem is both qualification and conduct.
The average player in HA is not qualified to make any productive decisions for a group, or to judge the performance of the other group members.
It's okay for people to be frustrated if you lose to a decent group you could probably have given a stronger fight, or if you get a shock-value failure to a bad group. It's very much okay to be frustrated if a high rank group easily dispatches you in a minute.
It's okay for a person to be frustrated if you make blatantly obvious mistakes; but they should be clearly aware of their mistakes, and be open to admit their in-game failures.
It's okay for a person to give input on skill or profession choices; if they genuinely believe that a certain option is a stronger choice, they should voice that concern.
It's not okay for people to outright rage if they lose to a decent group they could probably have given a stronger fight, or if they get a shock-value failure to a bad group. It's very much not okay to rage if a high rank group destroys you easily.
It's not okay for a person to heap ridiculous, unfounded amounts of criticism and hostile anger on the rest of the group if they fail, especially if they're responsible in some part for losing a game, and they're not open to admit if they screwed up.
It's not okay for a person to be confrontational and stupidly argumentative about every decision and every skill choice.
The problem is that most people believe they're stronger players than they actually are; they prefer to blame the rest of the group for losing, and they don't ever credit anyone for anything.
They have abysmal conduct, they have a shit attitude, they have unrealistic expectations of others, and they unrealistic, unwavering belief in their exceptional competence. They're quite frankly bad.
As long as you PUG, you run into these people on a regular basis, and many of the "friends" that you encounter from PUGs have only disguised themselves.
My advice is to fix that problem. That is, PUGs. You can't fix bad players and obnoxious conduct. You should, however, try and remove any interaction you have with them.

Yeah, me too
This thread reminds me of the day I stopped PUGing. I was r5, and joined an r6+ group that a friend of mine was a PUG in and invited me to. They pinged me a Cripslash bar with no Gash, "Watch Yourself", Tiger Stance as an IAS, and Deadly Riposte. When I suggested a few changes, the leader of the group told me "Click, Load, Ping, Are you retarded or something?", and one of the guys on vent asked me if I was gay. Honestly, I'd rather do some RA or PvE than put up with that.
Forming PUGs is just as bad. You can easily spend an hour or two forming a group, go for one run, and have everyone rage on you. Why would I possibly do that when I can wait for guildies to get on, form in 10 minutes, and play all night?
