Target calling "bug"
You know how they're changing a lot of "ctrl-X" descriptions? It used to be all the same with something like "i'm under the effects of "Charge"!" right now it's "I'm being empowered by charge" etc etc. It's all useless but they have really taken it to the next level, of course they broke something in the process.
Calling a target with control would cause teamchat to say "I'm attacking Your Mother (6)!"
However, now it says: "I'm attacking Your Mother" they removed the number. This is incredibly annoying because it really was a big help to know what numbers were being attacked without actually being there.
GG another useless screwup with no reason, just like isle of balthazar. Also i bet 100k it will never get fixed.

Press T. Problem solved.
Also - another change/bug is pressing "ctrl shift + target" used to say "I am targeting" and it now says the same as "ctrl and space" which is of course "I am attacking!"
Rather annoying on a caster class with a melee caster set.

Making people's roleplaying fantasies come true by being "enchanted with shadow form" is clearly more important than clarity issues in PvP.
And yes, I agree with the number being important to an extent, especially with the new fad of mesmers using signet of rage. For spikes, sometimes you want to know what kind of target you're hitting before actually hitting t to get the target, and knowing their number gives you a split second foresight of what the target is.
And also, if you're a mesmer, if your caller isn't completely clear saying "I'm going to spike a monk, you diversion the other one" then seeing the (7) next to the target name will indicate he's hitting a monk and you should diversion the other monk regardless of if he mentions it or not. That's an example of getting info out of it without needing to press T, which wastes valuable time sometimes since you're not actually spike assisting on the target.
Edit: Damn, I just taught over 50% of mesmers how to not suck at the game. Not good

You hit control and click on the name or tab super fast.

that was a rethorical question... point is it is: it is impossible to instantly select "other" guy without knowing his name upfront, so whole complaint is kinda useless.

Nope. Only for your own party.

Should get fixed, it's annoying as hell to look for people's names rather than their number. Especially annoying if you're playing against koreans.

Or barcode names like in bloodspike. As i said though, it's one of those "small" issues they're never going to fix anyway...

Seems like a petty thing to be upset about, but in all actuality it is a relatively big deal.
You're right though, it will never get changed. A lot because nobody reads the forums and they don't know people are upset about it, and a little because they just don't care enough.

I miss it ... not every time we play but it does help out.
Last night on a rather messy altar cap in HA: I lost track of whom we just killed and saw a death pact getting through, which was not on a monk. Numbers help me to memorize the last target that was called low or spiked, as well as prioritizing called targets.
Minor but more then worth a fix.

Yeah this can be really annoying in the first 1-2 minutes of a GvG as a mesmer because you need to figure out which monk is being spiked, then look for the other one, and shame him...
Would be a lot easier if it just gave the number for mesmer at least. Oh and yeah I AM lazy before someone points it out...

I feel like we are back in March here, never the less, it will never be reverted because whoever made the change obviously doesn't PvP.
