If you enjoy playing sway and you're successful with it, have fun.
I don't enjoy playing sway (Actually I never played sway but I played similar stuff and I know what its like). And don't tell me I QQ because I lose to sway, I beat sway with randomways.
Sway isn't the problem, it's the result of the real problem- broken mechanics and objectives. So much has been said about UW-Fetid-Burial... that creates builds like sway that aren't designed to play in HoH or even cap points, just farm first 3 maps, which is utilizing broken mechanics and going against what HA is about (HOH, not hero title).
Therefore I don't hate sway or people who sway, because nerfing sway isn't gonna solve anything, HA objectives need to be reworked. And I don't "discredit" swayers. If you win then you win, and winning with a build that is super hard to play and only hardcore pros can play it isn't more honorable than winning with a 'gimmick' (ye, you're all welcome to flame me for that statement). And if you have fun playing sway then I can't blame you for that.
The only reason I dislike sway, is because players that don't want to play sway and arent r10+ (i.e. yours truly) have to sit in id1 for 30 mins to find a team.

Because you can't blame people for running builds that are easy to play.
Anyway this discussion here is worthless because according to this community every build that gets past unworthies is a gimmick, and all top HA players and gulids are terrible at the game.

How important is Song of Concentration for the smoke trapper to have? When we're holding shrines, I use it all the time, but otherwise it just doesn't seem to get much play. Would Winter be a decent sub? It may hamper some builds, but others, like the Iron Mist/Spirit Rift spikes, would get hampered alot.

Song is one of the most important skills in any HA build; no song=fail... worrying u never noticed. On the other hand, winter is a bad idea. It will be taken down in less than 5 seconds if it's a threat to enemy's build.

Well Song is important if you get to hold a shrine imo, but since all Sway groups just farm the first maps, they won't use it.

Exactly my point. Of course I've noticed what Song is good for, otherwise I wouldn't have posted. Nice QQ btw Arya. But the general attitude of Sway teams that aren't r7+ is to fight underworld, fetid river, mounds, and hopefully skip to gates. SoC even helps marginally then, because people would go after our spirits first. Sway is just a faction farming build. Better to call it a faction grinding build. 90% of the teams forming don't even have a vent or ts server, so the first spike team you run across already has one big advantage over you. When you lose a fight with a PUG, there is always one or two ragers. I've been on teams with good killers before, and we get to a shrine map and everyone resigns, just so there's no loss and no rage and we start over. Sway is what it is. I'm just exploring other alternatives to a skill that doesn't get much play.
And it's not that people don't want to learn those other maps. The first thing Sway peeps do upon getting r4, which seems to be the new minimum, is join heroway or spike groups. And the whole while, if someone randomly invites you to a randomway, we check their rank, and if it's good we join. Why? Because you learn. Sway is just a way of getting to the starting line.

Like you say sway fails at shrine maps etc. so u resign is exactly the thing people hate about swayers: They know the first few maps like any other person, but after they just fail hard and have no clue what to do. Since tactic callers at that level (rank 4) dont know how to do everything well they cannot tell everybody what to do etc. So every1 in that team who has played sway b4 needs to get told what to do at every map. How can you winn a game like that?

Tbh sway should NEVER lose in cap points. Anyway; SoC apart from being essential in CY and HoH KotH maps, is certainly useful for a well placed smoke trap, flesh, and generally vs any team that has good interrupts.
I personally don't like that attitude you guys showed; i run sway so i don't care about tactics and maps after burial. If you plan at learning anything that's not strictly brainless kill-or-get-killed then u need to learn what to do in relic and cap points maps. Keep song, keep grasping, and start thinking about winning consistently rather than 3-fame runs (which are pretty sad thing).

I Totally Agree with this. This is also a reason people h8 swayplayers: Their Attitude to playing better instead of getting fame.

It's like I'm typing, and half my posts must be invisible or something, because people say stuff I already said, like I didn't say it, and never knew.
And you know the funny part about playing better? It's alot easier to get into better builds and groups with that r3 or r4 gotten from sway. You don't see many people like 'r0 LFG EoE bomb.' or 'r0 LFG imbal'. People are supposed to sit around and wait for a charity slot to open up in a team they're really not wanted in, and will most likely take all blame for every little thing? Sorry. Life in HA is pretty good right now, playing all kinds of builds, mostly thanks to sway and hway giving rank a kick start.
P.S. Arya, if you have a R/D with a name similar to the slogan under your name and above your avatar, we've swayed together before and were quite successful, but only because the group could accept the good with the bad.

Mhh weird; you asked if SoC was such a good skill and I guess you got my opinion about how good it is, even for sways. You asked about bringing winter and i told you why it wasnt a good idea.
Also, i have absolutely nothing against sway :O without it there would be even less people playing HA which is certainly bad with so many skips nowadays. Boring to play against but usually free fame and less skips=good. Only thing that pisses me off is losing in CY or halls due to a team that has no clue what to do and C-Spaces us only cause we're known... and most of the time it's a sway pug.
Anyway, no we never played together; i do not pug at all and i never ran sway, i never even rolled a r/d at all. 95% of my fame comes from protting/infusing for guild teams/friends teams and only about 400 i'd say from paraspike Rest was pretty random stuff.

Less QQ moar nerf expertise to affect ranger skills only. This wouldn't effect much in PvP or PvE other then sway imo.
