The End of Sway, Derv and tele-spike
Quote:
This week's balance update primarily focuses on addressing problems within the state of PvP. The main problem areas we're seeking to resolve are melee teleport spikes, the dominance of Signet of Judgment, and the power of Dervish spike. We have not changed elite skills commonly featured on Dervishes in competitive play (such as Avatar of Melandru and Wounding Strike), but we have altered some skills that make these builds so deadly. While Shadow Form is unchanged in this update, we are exploring solutions. The goal is to slow down builds that keep Shadow Form up permanently, while not invalidating it for other uses.
Dervish
* Chilling Victory: this skill is now in the Wind Prayers attribute line.
Chilling Victory is a hard-hitting skill that contributes a lot to a Dervish spike. By moving it to Wind Prayers, we lower the damage on most builds since attributes are traditionally higher in Scythe Mastery than Wind Prayers.

+1 Wind
you're lying to yourself if this removes dervs. the unavoidable proc damage is too good to pass up. You'll run wind for SoMS anyways if you aren't bad, so yeah.

You really think they got kicked in the pants? Don't make me laugh. They still have the 75% block 33% IMS, they still have the expertise buff (relative to dervs), and they still get the scythe's ridiculous crits. Three nerfs that would have solved the problem fully and fixed other annoying things as well, and they were avoided, as Izzy seems to prefer solving the problem 4-5 times instead of fixing it the first time.

meh.
1. rigor mortis stops blokcing or wild blow cancels stances
2. major damage from this build was eremites attack + chilling victory with all the evasion and expertise... now they only have evasion which doesn;t count for much with the lack of any chilling victory... unless you drop specs in expertise... = less evasion. GG Escape Scythe

The 'take a counter' argument is always a bad one. Sway won't die with this, not even remotely close. They'll just pick another attack skill and hit just as hard.

the is already pretty weak, i don't think it could take another hit to it's damage. people will just go back to RaO thumps with taints and hexes

Sway was already dead. The only people left runing it are the r0 scrubs and they might as well be randomway. The r8-9 sways swtiched back to thumper+oliasway 1-2 weeks ago.
