Anet wants more split builds...

Wasn't the point of VoD to end the match quicker? Wasn't that the reason why they put the buffs in? Wasn't that the reason why they dropped the time for VoD to happen from 30 minutes to 20?

Honestly taking VoD out of GvG is like taking fame away from HA.

VoD was a joke, and moreso, a total mess, and while i dont like this new alternative either.. its.. kinda better than old VoD. as far as GvG goes.. prepare for VoR spammers, Quiv Blade wars all over the place, and WotA making a wreck out of a lot of people lol.

Huh? Just camp the f** guild Lord all the time.. Turtle out whit him then do the as much dmg you can in the 8min.. Also if facing Splits they will just turtle till 20, go out whit Guild Lord then easilly crush the split team 8v8 -.-''... I think the NpcS should have SOOOME kinda of advantages

lol you cant say the meta is bad until actual pvp takes place.. so far.. nothing has been outright game breaking except maybe WotA....

imo, this update is a lot like the NF powercreep add ins, BUT, where NF was almost all passive defense buffs (via paragon and enchant camps etc), this meta is a bash your face in ACTIVE OFFENSIVE meta... which imo... at least keeps things interesting... at least a lot more than they have been in months and months and months...

ok i played a few GvGs today. It was boring as hell no splits no deaths and we ended up resigning out of the last game cos it was just so boring.

Actually had the first decent AT in about a 2 months tonight, 5 rounds all against top100 opponents and all were balanced builds, tested the new VoD to the limit and had a bit of splitting, altho it does seem slightly pointless i cant say il miss splits, running around the map killing NPC's is what alliance battles is for.

The meta is all still up in the air currently, theres a lot of skill changing to be done with balanced builds but its currently very far from being boring.

And we already have an 8v8 Arena its called HA and has been dead for the last year or so.

With this update we wont be seeing solo decision being made anymore, because well everyone just camps the stand till one team cracks under the pressure or a mistake is made. You cant try to get an advantage of any sort other than pushing flags hard or DPing Key players. Dont quite see how that is fun. Why have the big maps if none of the space is gonna get used anymore?

From my super experiences playing in rank 2000 GvG, I believe this is a great update and that it completely promotes splitting.

Hey mah name is OP and I prefered the good old days. Naw not the fun ones with ether prodigy flaggers and actually nice gvgs, but the good old days with 5 monkz, cuz w/ al no' munkz are kewl expcilaly in grupz

Edit : wtf divine plays low ranked? you better come in my guild so we actually have a solid backline :P

Can someone explain how this version will promote splitting?

It killed all splitt strategies! Why bother killing archers, that give you nothing, when you can just wait until 20, walk out with your lord and kill the weak splittbuild 8v8.

This VoD change kinda turn GvG to more HA :P , Without this change guilds plays VoD build (5 monks, NPC farm etc), But without NPC moving out, made it boring at the same time :O

I think the idea was to split and get some damage clocked up on the guild lord just in case it goes all the way to 28min tie breaker.

In reality the game doesn't go that long, so splits are now pretty useless.

Yeah, but any 3 year old could have figured out this. I really don't know why they still employ guys like Izzy. I mean, who really cares about GW anymore - the really bad thing is that such people are probably ruining even GW2 by now...
