1. Put Crippling Anguish on your bar.
2. Pick a melee character on the opposing side.
3. Follow that person around the entire match while keeping crip anguish on him.
4. ???
5. Profit!

Regarding Diversion in AB, i like it there, because in AB in specific youll find a lot of common spam builds like SF eles, touchers, and sins (diverting a lead attack is really fun), its worth the spot for that alone, but its also good againsts monks.
Basically the most commom mes bar in AB today is the VoR, backfire, WW thing but if you're a bit above that and have some brains you'd want to run powerblock.
PB is very powerful in AB because of how common pure fire eles, curses necros, healing monks with no prots etc are in AB.
And also its easier than ever considering how competent most of the people that play AB are, alot of them will keep casting long cast time spells in your face even tho they are fully aware that you have pblock.

As someone who regularly runs a PBlock mesmer in AB, I can attest to how much fun it is. Nothing like PBlocking someone's face and watching them stand around uselessly for a second or two before they simply start wanding stuff. And yes, people will still cast Meteor Shower or animate spells or other long-casting stuff around you.
Mesmers are fun. Most of the time you do need monkly back-up, though, because they are both fun and pretty fragile. I tend to play a mesmer only if I'm playing with friends, or playing with a "we're gonna lose anyway and I'm just here to piss people off" mindset. :P
