hornbow on a pew pew ranger makes perfect sense. I use a flatbow but hornbows are more damage.

Not really what you "prefer" since you should be using both. Hornbow is obviously better on spikes and flatbow/shortbow is better for when you aren't using Sloth's.
And I still don't know about that ranger bar that was terribly quoted at the top of this page. Not having Debilitating just seems...bleh.

This looks really good, it's surely fun to play *steals build* :3
Erm... But I think I would play it with WoD, this would be more effectiv.
And I don't like Purge Signet. Immagine, you have 3 hexes on you (and that isn't that extraordinary)... -30 Energy. And it has 2 secs castingtime (what is really short *caugh* ) and 20 secs cooldown. Even whit Low Set it isn't that bash skill.
And I'm not a friend of Shield of Force. Well, it's not realistic, that someone's gonna take this down. But with all this Hammer wars you may be glad to have Shield Bash while laying on the ground.
Btw Glyph of lesser Energy is just stoopid on Nec.

Because its fun and that 1% are on vent knocking down targets and sb is an effective counter. Those are the teams that worry me, not scrubs running rao or hex spam. SB is a great skill if you make proper use of it. If your balanced group is running apply and a hammer war i wouldnt suggest it as its slow and energy would become an issue.
Put down that r/p m/e n/e m/w get on vent and try warriors endurance and ED. It pumps!
Also, calm down.

Cammy! its what you Pat, Angra and Kisses finally ran after getting rolled by my ra team what must have been 7 times... ED and WE, thats what your team ran to finally win.
I did like the Dom mes Pat ran in place of the necro, i would be curious as to how it faired vs a stronger team team.
Anyway, its a fact i am the worlds worst ranger, obviously the template is strong.

That was insanely good for an RA team. Or my previous team was just insanely bad. Probably both.
We did quite well against the other teams playing last night (a bad hexway, bad balanced, and like 3 different teams running 2-3 wounding strikers + monks). The only real threats against the build are good hexway that can land hexes through the ED Ranger and Dom Mes' interrupts and a magebane that can nail read the wind through lightning reflexes and Dom hexes through distortion.
Assuming their Mo/W fortresses don't explode in 2 seconds, which is literally what happens with a WE and ED.

first of all...u use purge on ur low set that has 24 energy (if its a -5 weapon&-5 artifact), so u wont be paying any energy for it most of the time.
second off, get kded in a staff/wand set or have no energy in shield set and shield bash becomes far less appealing. in the former case, nothign else but a stance will save u.
3rd off, if u have a problem with purge sig's cast time, dont forget that the pew pew ranger has read the wind - a 2 sec activation too.
and yeah, pew pew+hammer are nasty with wail necros..for obvious reasons.

just so u know - on spikes u will be having fun under wail of doom, so i doubt ur spirit bond will save anyone. ofc, ur veils will get rended before the actual spike. and even if they dont get, u still need a second to click on the maintained veil and spirit bond the (possibly already dead) target then.

Me and my friends played a game vs kmd and sup. They were bead. Their necro kept WoDing me without removing holy weil so it was easy to survive.
We had
1: w/e devastating with grasping earth
1: w/e shock axe
1: mo/r melandrus, draw condition and support for frontline
1: mo/w fortress monk
We broke 1 min till the end. Their monk and war had like 1 hp once.All glad 1 or 2. I was monking after about 2 months of taking break from gw, with really old monk build.
After we lost they started flaming us BUHUHU 2 monks haha you fail. And our monk was pretty much like their necro.

Perhaps because Melee-Way is... well, not lame but... not the fine way.
@ urania: hrm yeah. I would still prefer a stance to a ench. But monk is not my favorite class, so I should just shut up ^^

Obviously this build is outdated.
The monk template is inferior to the mindless fortress monk one. Some ppl want more challenge or are just sentimental though

pretty much - especially guilds like NOW (hexway with a mantra of resolve sig of midnight mes, joy) and sometimes sup with dual monk+hammer and a pew pew ranger (usually they run balanced though).
