To be fair they haven't had their first content update yet, although Guild Wars was a lot better without its first content update than WAR is, it'll be interesting to see how far it goes. But yea, Guild Wars pretty much has the best balance out of any PvP ORPG, by quite a bit. :/
At the least EDex should be getting nerfed tomorrow...at least it better.

My main point is that the Paragon's Motivation, Command, and Leadership lines should be viable, but they're not (Motivation is I believe the hardest hit). The Paragon, at this moment in time, is a class whose only viable attribute line is a weapon mastery line.
Paragons are intended to be a support class, not just [Flail] + [Spear of Lightning] + [Barbed Spear] + [Blazing Spear] + [Vicious Attack] + [Stunning Strike], etc. They're supposed to be able to attack moderately well, but their main strength should be giving support / minor healing / condition / hex removal / attack buffs through shouts / chants the instant the party needs it, then go back to attacking. Currently, that minor healing / support is really more like minuscule ATM, so small, it hardly matters.
Which is why currently Paragon Secondaries are far more useful than Paragon Primaries, which doesn't really make sense in my mind.
Take a look at [Song of Purification]. This is what Paragon chants should be, next 2 or 3 attack skills, or signets, or spells or shouts, or whatever, dependant on attribute, of course. Not just one skill when the chant has a 15+ second recharge, and it can barely heal triple digits at max rank on an action not everyone can perform!
Either more attack skills per chant, or lower chant recharge, and Paragons suddenly become a bit more viable...
EDIT: Changed from [Song of Restoration] to [Song of Purification] like I meant to put down.

Izzy barely has time to balance skills at the moment, so i'd rather see overpowered stuff fixed, than underpowered things get buffed. The old paragon was quite degenerate and i don't want it back, cruel spear para's are still viable, but are currently overshadowed by turret rangers.

Izzy has too little time to actually balance anything and actual broken shit needs to be fixed not the stuff that isn't harming anybody by being crap. Paragons are still rather decent, and every class has lines that are completely RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO all terrible (Tactics, Smiting, Wilderness Survival, Death Magic, Earth Magic, Deadly Arts, Communing, Earth Prayers, 3 para lines) but you need priorities and general sense dictates you fix broken stuff first and make other stuff better second. (which is why this is a topic about overpowered shit getting nerfed.)

if a class is only viewable when its broken in one or the other way on certain or all maps, then it is by far better it stays useless than trying to revive it which usually means buffing sth so much that it once again because broken in some way.
let paragons and sins stay where they are and what they are.

It would be possible yes. But with skillbalancer as good in his job as Izzy. And spending so few hours on GW1 anymore, it isnt reasonable.

Well there is no reason to use pew pew paragons when you can use pew pew rangers. If ED rangers get nerfed (which they should but probably won't) then paragons will become viable again. All that motivation/command/leadership shit should not be buffed, too much passive defense is BAD for the game. A profession specializing in passive defense (paragons) is VERY BAD for the meta, and that has been proved in the past. Motigons got nerfed for a reason. And if we are into it, I vote make haste to get smiterbooned, this skill is killing HA along with aura of stability.

Much safer to nerf experts dexterity than it is to buff paragons. That could probably bring back paragons, in addition to the obvious main benefit of getting rid of (or at least tuning down a good degree) an insanely stupid skill.

Most of which only suck because people complained until they were nerfed into the ground in the first place, mind you...

I hope you realize that Izzy doesn't listen to anyone for suggestions or does anything based on fan feedback. He'll think about it but he only does it if him and his team agree on it basically.

Nerf to ED came through, funny how it went from obscure to pew pew to just plain average. 15 minutes of fame, anyone?

Izzy pretty much only pays attention to his "secret" balance forums. But from what i know he doesn't listen too much to the people there either.

You're asking for it.
About skills,
-Nerf shatter enchant so rend can get a slight hit.
-Perhaps make warriors endurance a stance, though that might kill it.
-Why does bloodspike/spam keep getting stronger? lifebane strike > oppressive gaze > angorodons gaze > vampiric spirit. Apparently Izzy finds it a valuable addition to the buildvariety.
- Buff Bsurge! Prefer facing that over water me/e and mind shock spikers.
- If you face NOW's A/P spike on a non-split map its a sure loss, enchantrape/kd > all prot and dodging. And it has an abundance of defense. Can't blame a certain skill for that though, its the combination :|
- Powerblock can win games on its own if used right. Perhaps make the cost, recharge and the blackoutduration 50% of the current values, so the button needs to be pressed twice as much for the same effect. Makes it an elite ranged blackout, that doesn't black the user out.

I'm really glad you guys have no influence on the skill balancing system what so ever.
Seriously, before you think about nerfing a skill think.. Is this skill OP in GvG, HA, or HB(maybe). If the answer is no.. who cares.. balancing has and will never be done for AB TA or RA. Secondly think, Is the skill degenerate/OP or am i just bad and not counter it. In most cases you will find that the skill is not OP, you're just to dumb to counter it MEANING that it is not a big enough problem to warrant a nerf. Of coarse there are many other situations, but seriously, complaining because you don't get a ranger in RA to interrupt dom mesmers, or your team is to bad to metigate damage when your prot monk is p-blocked.. come on guys
