GvG may have "competition" and trims and e-peen, but the only fun thing remaining in this game is AB because in GvG you do the same stuff over and over and over again and every game on the other side you see 8 out of the ~12 available templates every game.

In AB you can take whatever you like and use it to kill noobies running random.

but man i cant wait for persistent world pvp in gw2. jump in anytime, with anything, for some senseless mayhem. well that better be how it is.

In this month's GvG AT there was quite a bit of diversity actually.

Soul Barbs + Recurring Insecurity (SBRI) teams are back (woohoo!), offering a non-melee oriented team build. "HERESY!!" I hear the metagamers cry, which is actually a compliment to the much maligned necromancer.

So yes, necro's are in GvG sometimes (either as SBRI or PoD+Foul Feast types), which completes the Prophecies pack. Primary Water Eles are in sometimes, as well as the Water Me/E and occasional Dom guy still. There's a bunch of different warrior, ranger and monk templates being used too, very nice to see. So, all the Prophecies classes are in action at the moment.

As for Factions classes, Rt/A's are the most common flaggers and there's also Rt/N stand rits carrying unstrippable prot and Rend, plus a nice support package of damage and healing. This month Dangerous and Moving got second place in the GvG tourney fielding 2 rits in their team! Rits are in ok shape at the moment basically. Assassins on the other hand... well they turn up in SBRI and angrily fling kitchen knives at people by the looks of things, they're pretty weird. At least they get aired. Unlike...

Nightfall classes. Who are all dead and generally unloved. QQ.

So y'know, overall it's more open than it has been in a long time at the moment.

Paragons at least have some utility, but Anet nerfed all of their skills because they are generally imbalanced. a small buff in one shout skill, which may be aimed at putting paragons back in PvP, would be multiplied exponentially when you put multiple paragons in a team.

Dervishes have a lack of utility which makes warriors generally preferable to them. Pretty much Nothing (except the return of VoD or the un-nerf of signet mesmers) will bring them back in the metagame.

Assassins are just bad.

Rits are good support characters and are a pretty well-designed class.
