Paragons in PvP?
I already know that Paragons excel in most PvE environments, however I'm wondering how well they'll fare in a PvP situation. Paragons are one of my favorite classes, and I want to be able to play in both PvE and PvE. Are there any specific PvP areas that Paragons play well in? (I'm interested in HA and GvG.) If so, are there any specific builds that I can start looking for?

The problem with PvP paragons is that in a group they were over-powered, but alone they were worthless. Paragons have since been nerfed to the point where everyone else can do their job better in PvP, although there still might be some guilds that have a place for a paragon.

As long as there's flail rangers paragons probably won't get any play time in a standard build.

You can play your paragon in low end pvp (RA,TA) or if you have a group of friends who just wanna HA or GvG for fun. But if wanna play in some serious group, you will hardly get a chance with a Paragon. ><

Paragons get outclassed by turret rangers in GvG/HA.
People used to use paragons as spike/pressure support characters. But the turret ranger simply has more damage and better utility ([distracting shot] + [savage shot], block/IAS stances and the ability to split), and it's not versatile enough to use in any other position.
They are used in some funny gimick builds , thats about it.

The last viable paragon midline template was the cruel spear one which had utility in the form of mesmer interupts but had no purely defensive skills. This template sucks in comparison to the turret ranger at the moment because the ranger has better general damage, better spike damage and better interupts.
This isn't to say that paragons are completely useless right now. The power is yours is a pretty strong template at the moment, especially since it has mending refrain which counters lingering curse quite well. You can also fit in mirror and either spear of lightning + harrier's toss or spear of lightning + a mesmer interupt. You could potentially even replace a dom mes with this in the standard "balanced" build. This, however, is the only paragon template I can think of which provides a good balance of offense and defense.
There is still NR/tranq with dual paragons but I'm not sure how effective this is right now. And then there's DA which is(was) only really effective with more caster midliners, but if you've got more caster midliners then there's no point in running a DA paragon. You may as well run another caster midliner which would offer more defense and better spike damage.

Overnerfed inferior prof in pvp...
Even sins with Criticl Defense could survive better than paras.
Para dont have any self-defense skill, Burning Shield cant even use when ur KDed.
And the only self-heal skill : Leader's Comfort is really sux.
But Izzy doesn't care , maybe he also enjoy Palm Strike 1~6 dual KD spike or Toxic Chill+deadly art 1~6 spike and doesn't want nerf it.
Or just due to he hate paras, so made paras inferior in pvp.
It's sad, made a prof such bad at pvp and let those overpowered pvx lame builds still exist.

you might find use for a command para in AB, just for using fall back/incomming for getting from point A to point B. Other than that, only para secondaries are used (mainly for HA, as "Make Haste!" is a necessity)

in AB people put para shouts on supportive casters, paragons are terrible survivors, and therefore blow in AB. In pve however, paragons are yummie.

I don't think paragons were overnerfed.. More like everything(specifically the ranger) around them was overbuffed, making them less desirable. It may not be very fun to play, but I always found the P/Me Cruel Spear template to be a good and balanced template as it was a good alternative to the ranger by offering more raw damage at the cost of versatility. Turret rangers simply made them obsolete.

Paragons were pretty good at VoD and before rangers did damage.

Once they fix pewpew rangers that can deal ~300 damage in under 2 seconds, aka making paragons obsolete as a midline damage character, then you might start seeing them again in GvG.
