hi i recently have gotten bored of pve and wanted to try it. I love the fact that pvp actually involves thinking and teamwork. I currently play ranger and would like some tips and such. I would like to eventually move on to team arenas and HA but i think i need to have more knowledge

Go to obs mode and pm people you see on there for help on specific questions. The worst thing you can do is ask "hi I am new to PvP can you help?" since that doesn't really tell them what you need help with, and no one is going to babysit you 24/7. If you have good questions to ask, you'll find people who are nice (or bored) enough to help out. Don't be discouraged if you get ignored, because they're probably afk or in a match.

Anyway there's a guide to Rangers written by Yue over at QQ forums, I'd suggest you read that. It's rather outdated at this point and is GvG-oriented, but still includes skills a Ranger should have. I'd suggest you start there.
