Fun and failure both start out the same way.

If winning doesn't matter and you don't have fun playing spike builds, why are you running an omega-defense spike in a daily AT? unless you guys were planning on offensively splitting with that build but spontaneously decided to 8v8 spike once the gates opened. for some reason this doesn't seem likely.
(for people who don't know Armor Stacking = mitch)

Because we knew they would play with 2 smite monks and a curses Me/N, I don't mind playing a boring build occassionally and playing against this smite shit is boring regardless of what build you play, so you might as well run something that beat it's quickly and be done with it.
For the record, it wasn't my idea to run that build, nor do I enjoy playing it, there's 7 other people in my guild who might not agree with my every point.

A quote where I asked farin why he ran dev hammer:
Quote:
1- Builds faster.
2- I split a lot, weakness is useful (it building faster on splits is also useful).
3- I don't really need the unblockable hit from magehunter, my target selection doesn't work like that.
|
Besides Nihil I think he was the best hammerwarrior. I always enjoyed observing him, but that days W/A was pretty amazing without aftercast.
I guess it depends on what you're playing. In a splitbuild dev is better than magehunter and in 8on8 magehunter is great. On burning you can run earthshaker as well.
And ego is running W/N so Devhammer cannot be blocked anyway a lot ;D
When I was bad and played 14 hammer 12 strength I preferred dev hammer in 8on8 too, but with 14 strength and 4 adren on enraged magehunter is charged quite fast.

so i've heard, yes
anyway, on topic!
in ta its useful to run dev hammer cuz of the plague sending's breakpoint - the weakness just owns it (asuming that the hammer warr will stay on the necro most of the time, apart from linebacking here and there).
magehunter's can be nice with its unblockable kd, but if the deep wound wont hit, then idk, if itsrly worth the bother.

Not that I want to be a part of this useless discussion but you can have fun in more then one way (/build) usually, just saying.
P.S Nihil was the best hammer warrior.

Ima Paladin.
I thought it was given that dev splits best and magehunter's 8v8's best.

They were/are good warriors that used hammers a lot. No particular technique that I'm aware of.

I thought this thread was dead. In spirit of the OP I'm going to say Primal Rage hammer is pretty fun. It feels like hammer bars pre-nightfall.
