what happened to the PB mez?
I don't play mesmer so I don't know better but... why don't mesmer's play PB again in the current 3 monk meta, especially now that more HBs are switching to WoH because of rend.
I made up the following bar:
[power [email protected]][power [email protected]][power [email protected]][signet of [email protected]][arcane [email protected]][arcane [email protected]][mantra of [email protected]][death pact [email protected]]
The potential I see in this bar is power blocking the infuse monk (they are useless for 14s), sig of humming the prot monk (RC/LS down, conditions rampant) and arcane larceny and thievery on PnH monk (they only have 4 spells as Mo/P, now they'll only have 2. 50% chance of disabling PnH for 33s!).
If you could do all that, the other team is scrawd! The hard part is not getting hum sig interupted and successfully using PB.
To anyone that plays mez, does this bar reak? it doesn't have the staple shame and diversion, though i never felt those were particularly strong skills. Is PB still viable in HA?

P-Block is great for royally shitting over prot monks, but that's about it. PD is the better general use skill, and it's definitely more useful as you get higher in the map rotation and play the various objective maps, and PD locking signets in such a high pressure format wins you games.
P-Block's also pretty good for occasionally shutting down defensive midline things but most of those kinds of builds in tombs aren't worth p-blocking.
Oh and that particular bar is pretty bad, sorry.

Mesmers are generally replaced by Norgu lately. Still a good human mesmer will win you matches. PD is usually taken over PB for a very simple reason, interrupting enemy ghostlies in altar maps. If you play with a ranger in your build, you can easily try bringing PB and have success with it as it's a very strong skill. Your bar although is pretty bad, shame and diversions are staple because they're awesome skills, not just because they have a pretty icon. Thieveries spell don't let you control which spells you are stealing and there's a change you will not steal what you want or steal 2 copies of the same spell. Sig of humility without mantra is pretty bad and it's quite easy to interrupt if opposing team feels it's a threat. Mantra of flame is not really needed for energy, shame+pdrain are usually more than enough. If you plan to take a PB mesmer, use a standard skill bar, it's been tested over and over and it's the most efficient.
Also, PB is not for the infuser but for the prot monk. Or for midliners if you have to play defensively.

PB Mesmers can still be used in HA. It's not like they've been nerfed hard, but the current meta prefers Tease on Heroes. If you do run PB, the build is just like any other generic Mesmer bar but with PB for the Elite instead.
[build prof=Mesmer/Ritualist Dom=12+1+1 Insp=10+1 Fast=8+1 Rest=2][Power Block][Diversion][Shame][optional][Shatter Enchantment][Power Leak][Power Drain][Flesh of My Flesh][/build]
- [[Inspired Enchantment]/[[Revealed Enchantment] or [[Drain Enchantment] for additional enchantment removal, among other benefits.
- [[Wastrel's Worry] for a constant damage source (and way to knock out Hex Breaker).
- [[Blackout] for a strong shutdown skill in split builds.
- [[Resurrection Chant] and [[Death Pact Signet] are also viable hard res spells.
- [[Mirror of Disenchantment] for removing party-wide enchantments such as [[Aegis] and [[Tainted Flesh].
- [[Cry of Frustration] is very powerful.
- [[Power Lock] can be useful in some situations.
- [[Power Spike] for low-cost, fast-recharging interrupt that provides damage.

SB protected ghostly then, WoW + song of conc protects the ghostly now. So then you brought choking rangers (lulz), now it's PD mez.

diversion is an EXTREMELY strong skill ESPECIALLY in HA, if you divert patient spirit what is their HB monk going to do if he gets hurt? also Arcane Larceny/Theivery do not work like that, they chose any spell on the bar including ones that have already been disabled so using 2 of them on a pnh monk (with 5 spells) would give you 1-(.8x.8) chance of getting it, 36%. also PD is just more useful in HA than PBlock as relic runs, altar capping and cap points all benefit GREATLY from a hard fast recharge interupt. Relic run you have 3 interupts on PB they need to fake before they have 20secs of freedom, not to mention what happens when they get 2 snarers on you and you miss PB and you cannot PD PS or Mel Shot (tho mel shot is a total guess i did manage to get every one a ranger used once cause he was so predictable), Altar Capping obviously perma interupt on ghost til you die is good, Cap Points disabling key skills on multiple chars and shuting down fire eles and knocking out res sigs win these matches.
PD has the main advantage of PB cause you can miss and it doesnt matter, you have Channeling so can spam it, killing res sigs wins games fast and its versatility is awesome. for HA i'd recommend PD, gold star!

Or you can take norgu who can actually hit his interrupts and leave the human mesmer spamming LFG in ID1.
