You can't be serious. If you're going to refuse to join guilds/get EotN and a mic, which are fairly necesarry for organised PvP, then it's only your own fault that you're getting nowhere.
As for your builds, stop trying to make your own and copy one that actually works. If you want do do well in RA, run something that will work the vast majority of the time like a warrior/ranger/monk, instead of taking a counter build and crying when you don't go against what you're trying to counter. It's called random arenas for a reason.

So let me get this straight. You want to get into PvP but you refuse to buy EotN, buy a mic and join a guild? I'm sorry, but you are the only one to blame for your failures.

If you don't plan on buying EotN/a mic and refuse to join a guild, I suggest you stop trying to get into PvP. Those 3 are required if you plan on doing something other than RA/FA/JQ/AB.

i've only had prophecies for a long time and i made it to r2 glad before i got the other campaigns. I believe a war hammer build or ranger is best with the limited skills available, cause kd and rupts are useful everywhere.

Dont listen to this guy.
Also, as others have mentioned before...organised PvP requires coordination amongst the team which you cant have by typing into team chat or calling targets or w/e.
The ranger may be camping the backline looking to disrupt some big prots, but if a team mate just calls the Rt, doesnt say much whereas on vent he'll be yelling "GET THAT RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOING FLAG RUNNER...WTF HOW DID HE GET THAT WEAPON OF SHADOW OFF YOU LAME ASS RANGER!!" (PvP can get intense )
Oh and you need EoTN for a lot of crucial skills...no reversal of damage, no patient spirit, no Disrupting Blow, no Sloth Hunters...man, how did we ever manage without it?

3). Find a friendly half decent Guild
OR
4). Buy a new game (and read Reverend Dr's post again)

You should at least get a mic. Probably EotN too, though you can sort of get by without it in some builds if you at least have the 3 campaigns. Despite "Guild Wars" not fitting the pve lore very well, it is a pretty apt name for the pvp aspect. Anything above RA/AB is pretty much guild oriented, or at least friend-list oriented. Without a mic and ventrilo you will not make the connections necessary to be successful in the team-based environment that is pvp.
And even if you do just stick to RA, it's still a team-based game. You can't win them all, and it's not even necessarily your fault when you lose (sometimes, it really is though). At least half of RA is about being patient as you bash your head against a brick wall repeatedly. Then again, you don't have eotn, so a patient spirit might not be part of your arsenal.

I don't have EotN either, but here are PLENTY of builds to use even if you do not have EotN. Even if you can't use a very specific build, there are numerous ways to gimp yourself to get the build you want. For example, if you want to run a [Wail of Doom] necromancer with [Foul Feast] and [Plague Sending], you realize that you don't have [Foul Feast]. What you can do is switch to a N/Mo and use [Draw Conditions] instead.

So I lose that round, exit and choose a different character. Example: I'll create a energy denial/interrupt build in hopes of facing casters. Next round starts and it's 3-4 melee builds and I'm useless.
I get frustrated and make some sort of hybrid. Turns out hybrids suck.
Basically, 9 times out of 10 I'll create X build and the anti-X team will be my first opponent.
I feel like I'm pretty good at PvP though. I've managed to get to almost G2 in a short period of time by going on long winning streaks that extend into TA.

Are you contradicting yourself? You're winning plenty of matches just by RA alone, something I want but probably never get (I'm not even g1). If you're having such a depressing view on Guild Wars, you might as well call your life horribly unlucky and totally useless every time your character dies. Afterall, if you could have only kited a little bit further or did a little bit more damage instead of ressing, your team could have won the game.

Join a guild.

Just because you get kicked out of a guild for ridiculous reasons doesn't mean other guilds will react in the same way. I assure you, there are plenty of guilds out there that will not kick you for not having EotN or a mic. Go to the Guild Recruiting section in GWG and PM the officer/leader beforehand.
If worst comes to worst, you can just make your own guild and have people join in from there.
