Conjure axe is actually a pretty good build. Chop chop from [rawr] seems to think so anyway, herd [rawr] wer gud.

Herd that a build working for one person or one group in high end pvp doesn't equal it being great for every warrior >>

2) What functions do warriors have that don't involve doing a lot of damage ? I can think of some but I'm curious what you'd have to say.

thank you for your clarification, now the point of this thread is a lot clearer.
so to answer your questions:
1) it depends if you're talking about spike damage or pressure damage. for spike conjure evis is probably the highest DPS spike build you can have. for pressure DPS a standard conjure dragon slasher will have the highest dps, cause you can easily spam +40 damage hits.
2) besides high damage warriors can do pretty good pressure, [bull's strike], [crippling slash], [coward], etc are pretty good pressure skills. of course it combines with good damage, which is the main form of warrior pressure. warriors can also do pretty good shutdown/disruption by knock downs, mainly hammer warriors but standard shock axe bar when played properly can also do it. I dont know of you consider this as an independant function but line backing, aka protecting your backline from the enemy frontline, can also count.

Most warrior builds don't do altogether that much damage straight up. Like in terms of what you'll manage, you're talking a stable 50-60 DPS using Cripslash, Coward, Eviscerate or Warrior's Endurance. If you toss a Conjure on top of that you can probably add like 10 DPS, and with Dragon Slash or Hundred Blades, you can probably get closer to 70 DPS without a conjure, but you won't even touch a bunch of things like Moebius Strike or Spirit Strength rits (which can hit like 90+ DPS if your target doesn't kite).
The thing is that most other physical builds that do more damage pretty much do only that; damage. Warriors may not do as much damage but things like [Disrupting Chop] and [Bull's Strike], and deep wound on command, and not being reliant on passive skills, and not being squishy, and having a free secondary, and only requiring five or six skills to flesh the bar goes a long way.

You people keep forgetting about the deep wound from evis.
Suppose your evis strikes 95 dmg, you add 100 pts dmg from a deep wound. Thus, 195 dmg combined.
If your evis strikes 125 dmg, the total dmg is 225 dmgs combined with a deep wound.
Decapitate elite can deals up to 300 dmg combined, but it's still shitty elite anyhow.

Am I mistaken, or didn't Ensign prove that Evis + Executioner's has greater DPS than Dismember + Cleave?
Also, shock axe and conjure axe are both excellent bars. If they "don't work for you," especially in RA, then you're not playing them right. Admittedly, they might not be optimal anymore, but they still are among the most effective frontline bars out there when played correctly.

If you have to ask questions like this you probably should not play warrior.

Lol I spend a lot of time protecting my backline. If I see, say, a blue dot jump to my monk red dot, I instantly head back. Once I must have spent an entire fight chasing the war and sin chasing my monk, and just shock/bulls striking them non-stop.
One reason I'm very resistant to taking shock off my builds is that it's an elementalist saving unconditional KD.
I'm just learning to basically wait till both of my attacks are charged, then use them to rapidly make a target lose half-2/3 of its hp - rather than spamming them all the time like a Dragon slash (another build I like).
How about whirling axe ?

Pressure/utility + damage > damage alone.
I remember one guide about "how to play a warrior", if anyone remembers where it is, it will greatly help this guy. Basically, he explained everything a shock axe can do, starting with BIG DOMMAGES >.> A must read for warrior starters imho.
Warriors all deal lots of damage (I mean, with a right build heh ? Not talking about the average RA warrior) and all have utility, with a big armor. That's why they are so good. Imho, shock axe bar speaks for itself.

I assume you mean this, since it's pretty much accepted as the best guide on the basics of how to play warrior.

Water magic has some nice low cost devensive skills... there's one that gives you immunity to burning, and another that gives you 20 seconds or so of 33% more movement speed (!!!!!!) as well as 30ish more armor. Someone used the latter in a 1v1 with me and although I beat him (barely), I may give it a try.
Next question: How do I stop running out of energy constantly by spamming frenzy ?
