Guild: Rebel Rising [rawr]
|
rawr went 9-1 (27-3)in winning the last 3 monthlies and gained a total of about 40 rating. Considering the euro guilds affinity to tanking there is a chance we could go 9-1 next month and actually LOSE rating. We have now won 10 monthlies on rawr, a milestone that we'd been working towards for quite some time. there is literally nothing to gain by playing again on rawr. THAT is why we are playing on a new guild. We actually have something to gain there (a gold cape, maybe another top 5 ladder guild with the Rebel Rising name)
But now i'll move on to this monthly. Rawr doesn't practice very much as a team. We play maybe 3 full ATs a month, and those are american hours where we usually only play 0-3 rounds. This month looks to be the same. Over the past 4 month's we've played in about 7 dATs and 3 mATs. That's about as much GvG as a guild like KMD does in a week, so it's only a matter of time until someone can overtake us
Predictions:
inside track
[BOSS] -always really good
[Shat - really good
[AA] - very underrated
[rawr] - ???
[KMD] - Pblock
[Badv] - 1/2 sup
[dP] - EURO PRESSURE
[Dirt] - solid
outside looking in
[nH] - build city
[yumy] - no more lemming no more cry
[vR] - remember when they got top 3? - they are better now
[OG - vR that can stay up past 8:30
[Land] - goobden hoobden
[Cry] - Rau = 1 man army
[StP] - know what they're doing despite forum posts which would make you think otherwise
[be] - very strong 8v8 if they can flag right.
[EUR] (are these guys a real guild?) - if so = solid

i need to find a pretty shitty guild that abuses mechanics and meta shifts so i can suck their dicks before they get trim so they will invite me if they get top 8
(poop trim is low standards even for me)

smurfing is joining in on other guild's tournaments? as in: rawr players split up over different guilds or something like that?

No, it's when a guild plays with their full roster, except on an alternate guild. So it's still the same players, just under a different name.

basically, if they win it's one more guild that has a gold trim, and if they lose, the general guild wars population (pvers) don't give a shit and the guild's reputation isn't as badly damaged if they get raped brutally

Smurfing is generally when a team with their full roster plays on a second guild because they're scared of losing rating or reputation on their main guild by performing badly.
In ladder play, it's often used to get faster matches.
In tournament play, it's often used because a guild is trying something different and are scared testing new things would result in a rating loss of the main guild.

As far as I can tell, Asp is in charge of spreading uncertainty every mAT. Jatt is in charge of defending rawr from trolls.

In the first post on this page, Jatt explains that [rawr] will be playing on their Extended Edition. More than likely this will be the only [rawr] that you will be able to select on your prediction page.
Edit: This is also evidenced by what dusanyu found Here

yes, we are a real guild :P we'll see how the mat goes, because we have our good/bad days and we're sometimes struggling to some builds.
#1 shat (it's so hard to say, how they'll do, because sometimes they lose to not-so-good guilds and then they win to good guilds easily)
#2 rawr (they don't have their own build this monthly, so I think shat have a decent shot in beating them)
#3 KMD (I'd normally put dP over them, because dP just plays more often, but this month KMD played a lot and more different builds)
#4 dP (awsm midline, their backline is sometimes a bit weak, but tho)
#5 dirt (they have tested a bunch of builds and are prepared for nearly any map)
#6 AA
#7 1warrspikeguild - (I don't know yet, which one will be the best)
#8 a guild who plays a strong split build on uncharted - we'll see which one can do this, or maybe vR got top8 because they profit from errors and american ping. who knows.
other guilds:
stp, cry, eur (but we're guesting a ranger for the mat, so let's see what comes - I'm fine with anything, since it's our first mat), nH, boss/KK/now (I don't think they are that strong in this monthly), be, yumy, og

Top8 in no particular order:
-rawr
-stp
-shat
-kmd
-dirt
-now or whatever smurf
-badv
-AA
other guilds to consider:
dP...is strong at pressure builds
nH...you never know what they come up with
sKy...even though they had easy opponents last monthly i think its a solid guild
FGJ...seems to be a new guild, did pretty well on a few obs modes i saw.
yumy...i've mostly seen them play with guests, guess we will see how they do on their own

1. Rebel Rising Extended Edition (don't have a clue what they're running right now - but they simply play together better than any guild in the game)
2. Shat
3. BOSS
4. yumy (I think they're the best split guild in the game right now)
5. KMD
6., 7., 8. - still under consideration. I'm looking for three more guilds who I think can win that first playoff game on Uncharted.
