Every time someone tells me they play for fun and therefore won't bring guardian on their heal build, I tell them this.

It's not so easy everything is relative (including this statement)...
I can tell you that I've played byob in a top 1000 guild and against a top 50 team that barely won at tiebreaker, even got wiped a couple of times during the match (soon after vod got sacked) and who actually congratulated us for a game well played.
The game was tough, we did not win, we were congratulated at the end, so it was a hell of a fun game to play.
So sorry, your equations are not universal.

Last time I played with someone that "played for fun" they played a (non mind-blast) fire ele in GvG, ran ahead of the whole team, stayed in front of our warriors, didn't move with two melees sitting on them.
After 4 years of this game, this has been every experience with someone 'playing for fun'.
Back on topic, like Byron has said, the situation where sundering gets a kill when vampiric would leave a window open for prot/heal do happen and happen far more than some mathematical equasion that doesn't generalize to actual gameplay would suggest. Its one of those things, if you have played hammer warrior a lot you would see these.
Also: anyone suggesting sundering on a sword is a damn moron

there's "playing for fun because person x don't have the mental fortitude to play in an intelligent manner",
and then there's "playing for fun because person y don't have the time and/or the inclination to really work at it".
unfortunately, there's no way to tell which category a person happens to fall under.

The corollary is that a good fight is more fun than winning.
I'm always right.
Being good is fun, but being good at sucking is not as fun as being good.

if i run hammer im usually in flail or enraging so i take +15% in stance, i hit everything with a vamp mod, except warriors to bypass sum armor, and switch to sundering for spikes, i like to always run +5 armor also (+30hp is nice, but imho +5 armor is better)
i keep all +10 vs. shields with +30hp on them and a while hexed shield and a blind reduction shield.
i keep a furious +5 energy +5 armor spear as defensive set (with a +30hp and +10vs. shield mod depending on what type of dmg im taking)and to build adren if fools try to kite, and the +5 energy is nice when switching to defensive set as it gives you 5 extra energy to cancel stance if ur using dash or enraging and got caught slippin with less than 5 energy.
i also keep a zealous weapon in inventory, but honestly dont use it much as i usually dont have energy probs with the bars i run.
oh yea sword and axe same as above but i dont run flail on these so i have 15^50 instead of +15% in stance and i also run +5 armor on these, everything customized.
if im running a conjure, then yea no vamp or sundering unless i get stripped and conjure is recharging.
If anyone has any suggestions on a better set up or a good reason to switch something up, im open to suggestions.

Why don't you ask for a perfectly decent, long, slightly flamey but interesting thread to be closed for no particular reason.
You don't play hammer ?

I play for fun, and i dont care if i win or lose, i play for fun using the build i enjoy.
are you one of those silly people in RA spamming "bRING REZ NUBZ" in local chat thinking its Team/GvG Arenas?
onto topic:
hammer = vamp
axe = vamp
dagger = zealous

for the first part, if youre running hammer you should have 14str for enraging, which only lasts for 1 hit, and flail is nice but 15^50> 15% stance for hammers cuz you are canceling with a stance that lacks multiple hits. also with 14str, you req sentinals without worry of weakness so your armor is quite high already. therefore because you are saccing hps for armor, the +5 < +30 because you have a low enough hp that you are nearing risk of bloodspike killing you too fast or other armor ignoring spikes.
with that said, the part i bolded voided anything you said. fools that try to kite? so they should stand there and take hammer dps in flail instead of moving and taking 1-2 damage from a spear? fail.

The vamp vs sundering argument is old as shit and people should have stopped caring after Factions came out.
