Same can be said for 99% of builds if you remove/interupt the key skill.

Nuke my shock axe, make me stop using [primal rage], and I'll simply kite in [rush] for 3 seconds and start fighting at full effectiveness again ...
Block my [dragon slash] and I'm still hitting for 30-50 every second, or 90 with [sun and moon slash].
Basically when I find smite monks I either ask them to switch to heal/prot, or leave the party.
If I try to explain that RoJ is only popular because it's great in JQ, they leave and insult me in whisp afterwards.
Smite monks just kinda make me sad =/

U do realise the OP is talking about a smite TEAM, and not 1 smiter in a balanced AB team right? Just checking... I'd love you to bring your lone warrior against 4 smite monks with RoJ...

First, going 1 vs 4 is stupid regardless of builds and nobody even suggested that, and second, RoJ is absolutely useless against anybody with a modicum of intelligence unless you can nail the target down for the duration of RoJ. Third, the previous poster was just countering the claim that 99% of builds are one trick ponies by giving some examples.
A balanced team wipes the floor with a 4 monk RoJ team of OP's kind without even breaking a sweat. RoJ is a JQ gimmick and it's subpar for AB. It may be fun but so are apparently ranger minion masters and frenzy eles, too.

I agree with most of the post.
However, a para can be useful in a team if the right skills are brought. I run a daze Para in AB and find it to be pretty good.
I bring shouts such as "Fall Back" and "GftE," which are very useful in AB as it affect all allies instead of only party.

Para's are powerful mob fighters, they just can't split for %(&* - which renders them of limited use in AB.
Until you find an allied MM...

I bet they would take full twice as long to get the kill as ANY other randomly selected noob team.

actually took 0 dmg from an RoJ cast on me... turns out if you kite as soon as you see the cast it doesn't hit you at all.

Practically the same as all AoE.
Even if it does hit you, its pretty damn hard to miss the animation.

I run this in AB. Melee just pisses me off. Ugh.

Can't say I've played a lot of ab since RoJ was buffed but I haved played this a few times with friends. Grab a standard AB WoH monk and two strong frontliners and you'll mow though everyone.
[build prof=Mo/W name="AB Smiter" Smi=12+2 Pro=10+1 Div=7+1 Tac=4][Ray of Judgment][Reversal of Damage][Smite Hex][Judges Insight][Life Bond][Balthazars Spirit][Blessed Signet][Bonettis Defense][/build]
It's a nice way to not die if your team stays together...just a little clumsy to use.

This. Normally I bring an ele instead of an RoJ though, and the second frontliner is either a ranger or substituted for a midline. Spend 5 minutes discussing builds and finding intelligent party members and you won't lose 4v4. RoJ is if anything a disadvantage.
ed : Oh actually I see you've got life bond and some melee support. That's a bit better than the usual. Smiter monks vary a lot, some will bring patient spirit and you'd
Yesterday one of my eles switched to a heal/ support rit, and the monk wanted to smite so I let her. Found it interesting, esp since I saw monks using smite hex / condition / reversal (70 dmg every 3 seconds ? OUCH) in gvg.
I'm wondering if war/ele/rit/smite would be a good party build. Really starting to like rit healers.

yeah now everyone thinks they can use Roj.
Like someone said before me, sorry forgot your name xD, interrupt Roj and the builds putting out very meek damage. Any good mesmer or ranger would rip Roj-ers apart

Oh no, GWG forums serve a much "higher" purpose, and are also for passive-aggressive type flaming and rampant epeening as are all game forums. But you know that already from many of the "thoughtful" replies to your thread. You did say that ROJ smiters was the BEST AB build, right? You did say that you created this build solely on your own, right? You did say that there were no counters to the build whatsoever, right? You did invite endless hot air commentary on how such and such owns your build or would have owned you, right?
Nerds take any post on an internet game forum as an "attack" on their well-waxed peen and "superior" game knowledge, always has been, likely always will be.

Everybody likes to flame about RoJ for reasons which have been described in this thread... basically you made a thread about something extra controversial.
Also: smite monks invite flames / flame / call me a noob then /ignore before I can talk back.
I want a monk to heal me, not cast mediocre offensive spells.
Although I did get killed by reversal of damage + frenzy today.

Ok im gonna have to say something i never thought i would say.
AB players have either gotten smarter or like Bart Simpson and the cupcake have learnt not to touch the thing that goes ZAP
People are actually moving out of the huge blinding light that it is RoJ.
Now how can i make [Word of censure] a viable elite in AB?

RoJ is only really meant to be used to solo cap. Other than that, planting a RoJ seed in the middle of nowhere won't do your team any good; just a nice little sparkly light people admire from afar.
