Make friends in the game and stop ranting.
I gvg with people any rank, simply because I find GVG fun. It's amusing though. Sometimes I've sat there literally two hours while they are setting up. Wondering to myself why.
If you organize yourself and have a positive, clear attitude. You will be able to play. Stop passing the blame.
As for titles, I never title. I've told some players I sold account (which was true) so I don't have that high rank anymore. That excuse is so cliche (in my case it's true but whatever), but they weren't fussy to check or something.

You have much less experience and no way of proving you even have any at all, yet you still feel you're entitled to play with those people who are vastly more experienced than you.

Sorry if my post came across like this, I guess I didn't word it too well heh. The point I was trying to make is all the people whining in this thread about the problems of high end PvP dying ironically have the power to bring it back to life.

This new victory mechanic is terrible. VoD should come back without Lord, Knights, and back to 2 Archanists or Bodyguards again. That was probably the best form of VoD there was. Just fix AI so they don't get farmed like it's their job.
Oh, and Ladder play should be important, tournaments held on random maps from a pre-defined selection (for instance, 6 maps pre-set, no elimination of them, randomly generated for each match).
Also if pushing bases, Archers need to get involved in defending them, not being in useless spots where you can just ignore them forever.

Did you actually tried to geust any high-end gvg'er?
Don't expect to play with them, ask them to play with your guild. The game is complex and players can't really do much about it except trying to help and being social, in the gvg scene I find the majority of the players helpfull.
Also i came across 2 guilds this week willing to take anyone. But please explain how you expect to win if you have no gvg experience with a new guild. Anyway the guild was r2000 and whent 5/2, while their playerskills werent great, they did try to talk about tactics and quite frankly: positioning + communication/tactics > playerskills, so the experience you get from it can actually be very worthwhile for a beginning player.

Pretty much this.
I think some skills/builds might have to be changed for VoD to come back also though, like ineptitude/clumsiness and smiters. Smarter AI might make that irrelevant though.
GvG's been vod-less for so long now that I don't really mind the lord damage mechanic anymore, as games don't tend to go to 28 as often these days anyway. But when you really think about it, it's a pretty retarded way of resolving a game.
