Bridging the gap.
I'm tryin'---i'm tryin' real hard here. Now that my working schedule has changed i find myself playing a lot in the mornings/afternoons. You know, while all the american kids are still at school and the euros run rampant. Being as my guild only gets on after about 5pm EST, i try to make due pugging euro teams. But i'm having trouble... communicating, i suppose.
Having played with both American players and euro players, i gotta say the differences are huge. F**king huge.
The main problem i have with euro groups, well it's mostly build issues. I always have Google translator up in the background but sometimes i'm just not quick enough. Like i try to tell them "your ele is running backfire instead of mantra". Or "your infuse monk is running woh with healing breeze". Or "you have 2 prots and no healer". The list goes on and on and on. Most of the time i'm just ignored, even when i'm quick to paste the translated version in there. But i mean i've got to be faulty. Are my ways of communicating somehow ineffective or incomprehensible? While my faith is still intact, i'd like to stay away from thinking these euro players simply do not care.
If i'm lucky to ever get a reply, it's usually something in french, ending in either "xD" or "^^" 100% of the time. Every time, all the time.
"Hey wait! I have no skills on my bar! Let me load a template real quick."
"je ne se vous xD ^^"
"NO HOLD ON!" *pastes translated version of what i previously said*
"se parle avant gwen xD xD xD ^^" *hits enter battle*
Then i get barraged by smiley faces and i'm told to take a nap.
I don't get it guys. I don't know how to reach these euros. You know those dreams where something's happening but you can't say anything? That's what i feel like! Halp!

With as much offence spared as i can, step away from the french, go to the german. In my exeperience they're very good at more than one language, and in my experience they don't run eles with backfire.

There are maybe five groups of euros that don't suck, and they're r10+. It sounds like you're not playing with any of them.

You people seriously believe this? This thread isn't a joke?
I frankly don't understand. Most euros are proficient in English; very few of them are only fluent in one language. We rarely PUG during euro hour, but 99% of them speak and understand English. I was guesting for a friend's Italian guild yesterday, and they clearly understood me. My present guild has people from (among other nations) France, Norway, the Netherlands, Russia, and at least one of the Slavic nations, and every one of them clearly understands my American English. I played with a European guild (British, Norwegian) for nearly half a year despite being American, and except for our flagger, they spoke and understood English clearly.
I've spent nearly a year of my GW career with Europeans despite being American, and I've met very few people who demonstrate the behavior you've described. I think you're just being stupid, or you're unfortunate and play with stupid people, which doesn't reflect well on you at all.

I think its the other way around, Sun Fired Blank.
YOU'RE probably the one playing with the 1% Frenchies/Germans/Euro's that don't suck.
Whenevr I pug, no matter what hour, if the guy is french, I KNOW I'll have to kick him.
So far, and this is not trying to sound funny, or exagerating in any way, I've only met 2 Frenchies that didn't totally suck, and actually coorporated on vent.
And one of those 2 turned out to be romanian after all.
It's not secret that both Germans and Frenchies have a very chauvenistic nature. I'm not pointing a finger, or discriminating, but it's the truth non-the-less. Being from Belgium, and thus regularly travelling to both Germany and France, I know from personal experienced that the mentality these people have in real life, reflect their mentaility in-game.
Especially with Belgium being a dual languaged country (French, dutch), I know how hard-headed french speaking people can be. If you go to the french part, you're FORCED to speak french, cuz they refuse to speak dutch.
If they come to "our side", they REFUSE to speak a word dutch, even when asking you for help. (Believe me, I have it happen every now and then, with the exception of few)
It's just how they are raised that is reflected upon them in-game. They naturally are hard to coorporate with, unless you speak their native language. If you don't, they Don't speak on vent, they don't call anything, they simply punish you for not being their native language.

Sorry but after i read that much i completely disregarded the rest of your post. Only joke i see here is you thinking what you read isn't true because you don't like it, champ.
A note on some progress, i notice if i end every sentence i say in "xD" they tend to pay attention to it more. Not fully comprehend it, but pay attention to it at least. It's like those two smiley faces are punctuation to euros. I actually convinced our prot monk to take the ghost instead of the infuser when we skipped to forgotten from underworld by correctly punctuating what i said with smiley faces. Ooooooh.

If you were any good, you'd already have good euro hour people to play with, or lacking that, your good American hour people could refer you to good Euro hour people, and you wouldn't be spending weeks trying to PUG a non-fail r9+ group. So rather than just admit you're bad, you hide behind unjustified nationalism and make stupid posts like this one.

I think "je ne se vous means" I don't get you, but I don't really speak french.
Anyway it means "I don't __ you", so I think it's pretty clear.
Most translator programs do an extremely bad job, try translating something english --> french --> english. Pasting things into a translator will not help you communicate with french people but it might confuse them...
Just speak english to them, also don't ever empty your skill bar when there's a chance a random party leader might just start.
PS: French people suck at GW. Nobody knows why, they just do.

French and to a lesser extent Germans dont want to speak english and a lot of the time cant.
It's the same irl when you visit france, they act like they don't understand english.
From other countrys the english is usually pretty good.
