Aegis to replace SoC?
Since Aegis stops every thing that interupts besides Earthshaker on adjecent target or blackout, do you think people will use it instead of SoC? It could be brought on the PnH and on the Prot monk and you would have 2 good antispike skills and if you chain them correctly you can let your ghost cap without needing adrenaline.

Why don't just take SoC? it's party wide anti- interrupt. Besides, I think it could be useful to put aegis on the prot though. 3 seconds invincibility on the ghost for example on king of the hill ( assuming you're currently holding the Altar) you could use SoA followed by aegis, for 8 seconds ( enchantment mods excluded) in which the ghost takes no damage. is very helpful when people can watch the timer.

Yeah, but having Aegis on the PnH could totally save you the game against any spike build. SoC doesnt really do much outside of altar matches (although it is sometimes useful). I am not really saying that everyone should bring Aegis instead of SoC (should depend on build aswell) but I can imagine that in some builds it would be a lot better.

the 30 seconda kinda kills it and putting it on the pnh is not the way to go because you need 14 prot to get a 3 second aegis.

TbH, most PnH's run 14 prot atm, with the PnH prot bar 14 prot is so much more usefull then higher divine favor...
so Aegis might replace SoC, We will see how it goes

1) Ghostly needs 5 seconds to cap in Courtyard.
2) Any decent mesmer will try and cry the other ghostly, which is most likely next to yours, and thus interrupt your ghostly aswell. After this initial interrupt, Aegis has already ran out, and there is no way in hell you're going to cap.
3) Song is the shit

Wait until claim resource is about halfway, then it should pretty much guarantee a cap. The new Aegis is a lot easier to get off than SoC.
It just depends, if you have room for SoC (with make haste you already have to slot /p) then SoC could be easier to slot. Offhand it does seem a bit inferior, but it is at least a somewhat viable alternative to SoC.
I imagine though Aegis is only going to easily fit into the 8 man Ether Prism/Energy Blast spike.

True, but profane > all prot. I always thought profane was a tad imba (I think ANet has been having a love affair with the necro class for about the last 3ish years), but I guess it's really only powerful on altars so its no big deal.

Why do people keep thinking Aegis = invulnerability to cap? So many skills can still effect the ghostly and cause him to be interupted. Leech sig wins games.
