What's with all the Derv hate?....
Why does it seem that some people think Derv's are a total joke in pvp, and some just think Derv's are absolutely useless all around....
My main is a Derv and I'm not to shabby at pvp. I use poison tip sig to add 10 sec poison to my wounding strike. Aura of thorns as an unblockable crip to everyone nearby for 9 secs costs 5 en recharges in 12 secs. I use Victorious and Twin Moon Sweep for dmg, (Twin moon does a larger amount of dmg then you'd think)...Vital boon and Pious sig for a 260hp heal at the cost of 2 energy
(when aura of thorns and vital ends I gain 3 en back thus those 2 only cost me 2 en in the end)...
*vital boon and poison tip sig before going in, for the hp boost and healing if needed, poison tip because it'll last 60 seconds*
*aura of thorns near selected target*
Wounding strike--->twin moon +48 hp *bleeding applied to all nearby enemies*--->Victorious sweep +29 (to the already high scythe dmg) and +78hp---->Both twin and vic have low recharge time, so spam both throw on vital boon or aura of thorns for a quick ench to use WS and crip, pious signet for emergency heals
I've used that build on a team with 3 monks and made it to 10 wins, took longer than usual especially against a team with a monk, but made it.
Health is no problem almost every attack gives me hp, this build can rip down just about all classes *unless they are always blocking, but gotta run out of en sometime* and seeing as I'm using a scythe if up to 3 people clump I can spread the conditions to all of them+the large amount of dmg...
And seeing as I'm hitting all of them Vic sweep gives me 78 hp per person I hit.
Any thoughts on the build, or the Dervish profession in general?

The problem with Dervs in pvp is that other characters do their job better. For constant DPS you might as well go with a warrior, the IAS skills are less clunky (frenzy vs Heart of Fury) and you're generally sturdier. You have higher armour but not as many healing skills, but that shouldnt be your job, it should be DPS - you sacrifice this if you invest in healing skills.
For a fast spike (like you might argue WS + Mystic etc is good for) you go for a sin, access to secondary IAS from warriors, with survival skills such as critical defenses and assassins remedy, theyre pretty much as sturdy as a derv without sacrificing DPS. They are even better at using a scythe than a derv as the crits on a scythe are so high!
If you want survivability, go for a ranger - on the derv you have loooots of spells to heal and spread your conditions by running from target to target, but a ranger needs only mendtouch and a block stance, they spread their conditions much faster as they attack from range, they even have better elemental armour.
The problem is that often another character will be better than a derv at its job.

in pvp think of what the meta builds involving a scythe have been
a/d
r/d
even in pve w/d is better than any scythe dervish
because mysticism is trash. the only use for a derv in pvp is d/e so they can have the conjure.

Read distilledwill's post for why dervs are terrible. If you'll keep playing one regardless of what people think, why bother posting?

Wild blow is also pretty solid on a derv. I've never really given the derv a chance but I guess it could work well in AB. Like war, derv(aoe on npcs), smite(judges, roj, smites), heal.
