It sucks but stuff like this happens. I just hope they don't disband, and come back next month looking even stronger than they did this month.

As much as people were addicted to the dual fire ele build the past month... It seems the hex pressure was the best bet this mAT. Especially the map rotation. For split to be successful you needed to fight a team that made at least 1 screw up while your team played flawlessly.

tbh I don't think the current split builds need to play flawlessly at all. In fact, it's quite forgiving on mistakes when playing vs an 8v8 build as long as it's not like your monks full wiping to hex pressure. You run around and take some deaths and keep running around and have tons of chances to try and draw out a mistake from the other team. And as soon as the other team makes one mistake, your split has so much damage output that the lord is dead before anything can respond. Fire eles are too OP, zzzz.
Also the 1 corrupt/1 fire ele build is confusing. It doesn't seem like it is very effective in any one area, but it seems to handle splits really well because of the necro and is able to pressure 8v8 too. I guess it's sort of a build designed to handle multiple things but not be great in any one thing, unlike most other builds currently.

They didn't win by forfeit in the 6th swiss round, we played them that round for silver spot. It was a pretty close match but we ended up not being able to accomplish enough on split before they wiped our monks at a good time like 20 minutes in.
I'm pretty sure they only won by forfeit once against uP in the single elims, though I may have missed another time also, I dunno.

If that old lingering/weaken knees/2 fire eles/ranger build was also honor balanced because it dealt with split effectively and could both split and pressure 8v8, then sure. D:

Hexes were powerful because of the lack of a dominant flagger bar with solid party heals after just about every skill on the E/Rt bar got nerfed. In typical Anet style, they gave us a week's time to test builds (which generally equates to 2 days of actual play, or 0-1 for some guilds). I went through 5 different elites and 7 different bars in 10 matches this mAT because I've only done one full AT since the update and was still trying to figure out the best bar to run...
Woo for using the mAT to test builds!

I tried arguing that point in riverside about why delaying skill updates negatively effects the mat's but no one seemed to want to listen and instead insisted I stop whining and be thankful they even do skill updates. Maybe if someone who wasn't a complete unknown said something about that people would listen, then again...I doubt it.

The general populace in Riverside isn't exactly known for its intellect. Some people just don't get it, and some others haven't developed the mental capability of comprehending anything beyond the surface. And I don't blame them. People just want the game to be as easy as possible, and never having skill updates along with superbuffed PvE items makes that possible.
