I use my shockaxe, KD lock hammer, and Zelous vow warrior builds all the time in RA. most of the time they work. Just stick on a rune of clarity and Lieutenant's Insignia to help with those nasty hexes/blind and hope I end up with a monk.
Its a rock paper scissors game in RA, sometimes you'll face antimelee as a melee, or anticaster as a caster. Gotta make the best of it. People seem to bring anti/melee more because Warriors have the best Damage in PvP, and assassins can do quick take downs. Do you blame them?
I have NOT seen a blind bot dervish in AGES.
RA is RA. Live with it.

Nothing sucks worse than being the only melee on a team. I have really good success when there are two melee who have a clue, because it's hard to stack all that crap on two players. Anyway, this won't help with blind (other than your rune and hopefully your monk), but it annoys the shit out of those fire-and-forget hexers, and has mad killing power.
13 crit, 12 scythe, 6 wind, 2 earth
Way of the Master
Mirage Cloak
Pious Restoration
Crippling Sweep
Wounding Strike
Victorious Sweep, Critical Eye, or Malicious Strike (it's a matter of preference, +70 health, more energy, or more damage)
Dash
Rez
Mirage cloak is for damage mitigation, and/or your throw-away enchant to clean off hexes with Pious. Manage your energy and time your hex removal, and it's a really nice skill combination. The rest of the bar is self-explanatory...

if you have some kind of knockdowns or interupts its not hard to keep yourself clean, you just have to develop a nose for shutting down their defense.
if their mesmer uses empathy on you, interupt it next time he goes to use it
if they have a blind bot, as a hammer warrior you can fill up your adrenaline and KD him when your blind wears off, he will stop to put his attunement up or to use damage spells eventually
necros are the toughest because their shit lasts so long and is impossible to interupt reliably, faintheartedness and enfeeble dont actually stop you from using your attacks though so it can be managed under
basically you have to know what and when to interupt/KD to keep yourself clean and doing damage

Run a hammer warrior with warrior's cunning. It may sound like a bad skill since it lasts 10 seconds with a 60 second recharge but honestly if you can't kill something in ten seconds you shouldn't be playing warrior. If they have blind spam then just pressure their team and when you have the oppurtune moment kill the blind spammer and you are good to go.
Warrior's Cunning is a very under rated skill in RA situations.

Melee is the greatest damage dealer in GW, provided you have support to clean you up. Why wouldn't people try to run anti-melee in RA, where support is not coordinated and sometimes not even present? It only makes sense, shut down melee and have much higher chance to win...
If you insist on melee and don't want to deal with much hate, try Avatar of Dwayna or Mel. :P

@ ajc2123: Lieutenant's Insignia? -20AL (on that armor piece) and -5% damage?

I've gone back to W/R for antidote signet, it's boring but only way to get a hit in some rounds plus it removes cripple and some degen.

This happens to me all the time, and it's pretty annoying. I usually either switch to a monk or make a different caster character for RA purposes. However, I do recall having fun using a signet wammo with decapitate and some maintained enchants, along with purge signet. Being able to remove massive stacks of hexes is pretty nice, even if it doesn't keep you clean 100% of the time. Plus you can drop 10 hexes and conditions off of your monk sometimes. No bulls or frenzy is pretty lame though, which is why I didn't save the template for it.

On that note you probably could use a Critscythe sin. Think the crits should be bigger than Empathy and you can remove conditions with Assassin's Remedy. Faintheartedness is mindboggling annoying but in all fairness something probably needs to be around to hinder physicals from blowing stuff up.

Interrupt the person's antimelee skills so bad that they wont play it anymore, then laugh at them while ranking their dead bodies. Good coping mechanism because you're going to get owned half the time, so you gotta keep your outlook bright.

you are playing RANDOM ARENA
I stopped playing my warrior because of the massive melee hate. I run a ranger now with apply and menaldru's shot. Works against all spectrums, but only any good if you know how to spread conditions and interrupt. if you dont then it's a waste of time.

It is quite simple: play a warrior with Holy Veil or don't play warrior.
If you're playing this and you have other melee on your team, then you should attack the anti-melee hexer because they are 99% guaranteed to c-space you and use their shit on you. This will not only prevent others on your team from getting hexed but the double cast time will make it very easy for you to reflex dchops. As a general note, if you're playing melee without hex removal then you should never attack anything on the other team which has any form of anti-physical (blinds, hexes, weakness) because they WILL c-space you. The frequency with which they use their anti-physical skills on you can be drastically reduced by never attacking them.

Yep it's bullshit I usually skulk in the back spearing stuff then run in and BAM EARTHSHAKER!
It only works once though - once you get a kill or two you have everything stacked on you...
Ended up playing monk again...

Empathic Removal imo.
Prepare to receive massive amounts of flames/noobcalling when you run it though.
