Hit both wards in zaishen and any team will take you.

EDIT: At first I was going to leave it at that, but I thought I'd add actual advise with it: pdrain/cry the first one, PD the second.

If you are the only interrupter on your team you are almost certainly going to have to interrupt defensively (mesmers, eles, necros).

Shame and/or diversion on spikes. If your cast is taking double, cancel, they have veil. Strip veils/channelings.

Know when their interrupters are looking at you, either don't use diversion/shame or bait interrupts; getting yourself interrupted is only going to hurt.

You won't actually use PD in most matches. Certainly very rarely in deathmatches; it is a panic button in those matches.

You will use it on Altar, when ghostly pushes are made you need to be able to target their SoC and ghost quickly.

In heavy relic forces you will use it to shut down snares.

If your team drops several people at once, PD can be used to keep sigs down. Though if one monk is up it is probably better to diversion/shame train it to force a team wipe. Do interrupt hard rezzes, absolutely interrupt them, if your other interrupts are down use PD for this, the 8 second blackout is worth forcing them to use a sig.

pay attention to recharge times on important skills you're going after

good interruption players rely more on knowing what people are going to do than on reaction times

Most things u need to get are at least 1 sec casts with the exception of grasping earth, which can be easily timed with a diversion. Your style of play depends on the map.

Annihilation maps- If you're playing a pressure build just rupt passive defense like wards, party heals, weapons, annoying earth eles. Time diversions/shames on monks with spikes. If you're playing against a spike or hexes or something dishonorable make sure to shut down midline before moving to the monks.

Relic maps- Basically, your job is to prevent them from snaring.

Cap Points- run around and monk stomp on points and/or prevent aoe on the cap points if ur trying to cap.

King of the Hill- wipe whoever has altar, make sure you take down the weapons. Find the other teams SoC to rupt and keep ghost targeted so u can quickly T to it. When ur capped just rupt things to prevent dying like dom mesmers, fire dmg, hexes, etc.

Powerblock is better imo, there is more utility in it than PD. Also, interrupt hard rezzes and use shatter on stuff u want to spike (timing shatters properly is learned after doing it for a while) rend stuff like attunements or channeling.

These are only the basics, read a dom mes guide somewhere which should help. Your playstyle not only depends on the map but the flow of events during a match.

Doesn't really help - I watch the mesmer almost as much as the warriors, pdrain shame - infuse spike.

So you are saying to continue casting a 4-6 second spell that is going to be stripped immediately if it gets off?

If the monks are pdraining the shame, like I just said, bait the interrupt.

This type of matchup entirely comes down to outplaying the monks. Trying to say that because a monk has pdrain you shouldn't use shame is along the lines of saying because they have guardian don't bring a warrior. Or was this just you trying to say you are good at monk?

Sadly, Guild wars has NO player-side argumentative netcode so to speak. If your ping is 750, your skills essentially take an additional 750ms to activate as far as the server's are concerned.

I can't actually mes because of ping. Sad times to be excluded entirely from a class.

Most common mistake I see people making though, they try to predict people using skills or spam there interupts praying they will cast into it.

Most common mistake? welcome to pvp, sometimes there are matches being won by these so called Randoms.

I'll give you an example: Warrior has standard coward bar, but instead of agonizing they run dchop. Shock prot (usually what I do), spike him, by the time he gets up use dchop.

I must say that the dchop 8/10 times hit ls/sb/RoF, the outcome of the match could be made by that.

Talking about the mesmer in this case, if you know that your opponent has a skill which needs to be interupted in order to do something, let's say Bsurge. You mis the 1st one because he had a fast cast, now you can wait until thee skill recharges and try to rupt it again. or use your brains and think, bsurge is a skill that gets spammed on recharge in order to be effective (ls,rc) you might as well guess when he uses the skill.

And then we get the people who cry of these so called Random Noobs,
two types of things happen here, first of all when somebody "guesses when the skill is being used' they call him a noob, and when it hits, they call him a lucker.

Quarterupting is not random.

Quarterupting is landing an interrupt skill within the 1/4 second of someone recovering from a KD. It is not uncommon that someone is going to try to cast in that window, but you do have to watch it as it is not guaranteed just higher odds and a large payoff (extending the 3 second KD "blackout" further).

Predicting interrupts can be a good thing. If you are successfully predicting, awesome! If you are not correctly predicting, do something else. I can't stress the latter any better.

Mesmers should not predict in my opinion, because their interupts are costly and high recharge (PD excluded, but it still disables you for no gain if you miss it).

Mesmer disruption is rather expensive and has fairly extended recharges, and using it on prediction isn't a great idea. It's easy to setup a situation to reflex something, especially in HA. Heal Party, Channeling, Guardian, Shield of Absorption, Weapon of Warding, Resilient Weapon; these are just a few defense-related options that are fairly straightforward to hit. Why would you waste anything on prediction when you have so much that is right before your eyes?

It's a bit preposterous to say that predictive disruption can work, and that you shouldn't use it when it doesn't work. That much is obvious. Training a monk from 100% to zero through layered prots without any enchantment strips or prot-punishing / circumventing mechanics can also work, but I wouldn't make it a point of saying it can work, and that if it doesn't work, you shouldn't do it.

It's misleading to give credence to predictive mesmer disruption in the fashion that you are, and I think you know that also.
