Kurzick Lame Win Strategy Guide
This (short) Guide explains a winning strategy for Kurzicks to keep the Siege Turtles from killing other players, getting in the Kurzicks base and killing NPC's.
Basically those are the advantages of running the following build. The downside is, it is considered 'lame', especially by annoyed Luxons. Also, you do not get to kill anything or do anything else but to defend yourself to the max. Although it is rewarding to see 6 Luxons hacking on you, plus a Siege Turtle or 2 bombarding you and you still walk around unharmed.
This is the build:
Profession:
Warrior/Paragon (W/P)
Skills:
1 'Can't Touch This'
2 Dolyak Signet
3 Signet of Agression
4 Defy Pain [E]
5 Signet of Stamina
6 I Will Survive!
7 Healing Signet
8 I Will Avenge You!
Attributes:
Strength 12
Tactics 12
Armor:
5x Knight's Insignia
1x Superior Strength
1x Superior Tactics
1x Superior Absorbtion
1x Superior Vigor
1x Rune of Vitae
Weapon:
Sword of Defense (+5 armor)
Inscription: 'I Have The Power'
Offhand
Shield of Fortitude (+30 Health)
Inscription: 'Luck of the Draw'
How to use
-Use Signet of Stamina at the start, NEVER attack, so it does not get cancelled.
-Use Dolyak Signet whenever in range of a Turtle or whenever under heavy pressure.
-Keep 'Can't Touch This!' up during the Turtle attacks and spam Signet of Agression to be able to use Defy Pain. Which should be used whenever it is ready.
-Use Healing Signet for basic healing in between the Turtles bombardments.
-When having Conditions from Luxon players, try 'I Will Survive!' for some more longevity.
-If you have the gates on your radar map and there have been some gatekeepers killed, use 'I Will Survive!', preferably when a human ally on radar has been killed as well. When there are more then 4 corpses on the map, you should be able to keep the skill up forever.
Basically, when all skills are on, you have -17 damage reduction and 20% chance at -22 damage reduction instead. Furthermore, you have 163 armor (+20 vs physical). During Healing Signet, a full frontal Siege Turtle blast damages for 159 and Healing Signet will heal for 160, but it is recommended not to use Healing Signet during a blast. Also you get +7 regeneration from 'I Will Survive!' that will be +10 if you have conditions on you.
At the start, run out like the rest, usually to the left teleporter, then run to the center of the map, halfway in between the Orange and Purple gates, preferably in the 'small valley'. If all goes well, you should be able to get the aggro of BOTH Siege Turtles. If not, just continue with stalling just 1 turtle. By this time, you should also have some Luxons on your back, but they should not be too difficult. They give up soon enough trying to kill you, or they waste precious time.
Sometimes the Luxons team up, usually the only thing they can do is interrupting Healing Signet. But still, they have to waste time getting the whole team to get to you, and they will eventually kill you, but it should take at least a few minutes if you can manage to keep spamming Healing Signet at the right times.
If you die, wait till resurrect, go to left or right portal to the outside, but DO NOT enter it, instead, if there is a turtle near the gate, stay near the portal, behind the rock. The turtle should not be able to damage you, but still keeps firing at you.

It sure is a good way to tell that things are wrong in PvP when a tanking build looks viable.

prolly gonna dislike me for this, but if you're just standing around doing nothing you may as well be leeching cos you're not helping support, or kill.

So in PvE you would rather have 4 assasins with low armor killing stuff then 1 Tank with 3 Nukers? Try being a monk in a team like that.
Basically this is the same as the PvE Tank, you are taking aggro from enemies. Not only Siege Turtles, but you also keep Luxons busy from killing other Kurzicks. It's far from leeching, though you are standing still, like a tank in PvE.

so you're assuming that the tank is going to take all the damage from the enemy team and they'll just completely ignore the eles doing the damage to them? yeaaaa.. no
that works on npcs, not so much against another team...

Hi, my name is reality, apparently we haven't met. Go visit a low level "pvp" arena sometime. You'll find that, yes, this is exactly what happens.
See, if the other wars don't kill you, you might call them a fag. And they can't let that happen. So they'll whale on you until you die, no matter how long it takes, even if other players shout at them to stop.
It's pretty pathetic.

Yup that actually happens lol.
Sometimes with even 3-4 of them at the same time, constantly dishing out 0 dmges. And then they keep on doing that for quite some time before they give it up.
I guess sometimes they figure out that I am stalling their turtles, so they organize in Team Chat to take me down together. Because letting me live means the turtles do nothing.

Well you can be even more lame, stand next to teleport gate.
Get turtle focus... gg !
Wall is protecting you from turtle attacks (or you can just heal urself), and noone else can reach you or attack you.

I see this often enough. No need to spread it around.
And isn't FA unbalanced in the first place?

By all means, let it spread until it's so common that Luxons start bringing a specific counter (i.e., a mesmer with Ignorance ). Or a ranger with Primal Echoes, for that matter.

I've seen this in FA, yes this is an FA build, yes it's lame, why is it posted here, also that's a pretty terrible version of it and you're going down shortly after I dchop your healing signet.

I saw one of these guys, but he died pathetically fast, not sure what killed him but he didn't do much, and we won even without the turtles. Just went around him and killed the gate npcs and keepers while he was siting outside useless.
Though when I'm on my mesmer I have started taking ignorance and Soothing Images just to shut these ****s down. Soothing kills any warriors damage and their healing, and hurts gunther a little, and ignorance can hurt the kurz necroes and some monks even if you don't encounter a tank.
If you're on the lux side and this happens just ignore the thing, run in the base and start killing stuff. Biggest mistake you can make on the luxon side is PvPing needlessly and clinging to the turtles when they aren't moving. Just press the gates, have 1 guy kill or distract any monks and focus on NPCs. On the lux side players are way to timid and not nearly agressive enough at green. For example I can't tell you how many times I've managed to chase amber runners all the way into the green gate from the purple mine and kill at least one of the NPCs while they're there trying to turn in the bundle but can't because gunther and his stooges are trying to wand me to death with text bubbles floating over their heads. Thats another thing, KILL THE ****ING GATEKEEPERS FIRST, they have 0 self heals and only have prot spirit to defend themselves... they will however use jaimeis gaze and prot spirit on gunther who already has watch yourself protectors defense and other tank crap.

Soothing images is a pretty big deal, best is when you can get warriors with it right after they activate frenzy.
I don't get it cast on me often, but every single time I've just had to tank it out even with a monk nearby.
