Guild Wars: Resurrecting a Dead Game
Guildwars is dying, and without some high-tier intervention, the devoted player base that makes up the majority of the remaining players will loose interest.
I dont want the game to die. However, I, along with many others, find it hard to commit energy to playing a game thats been left at the door step.
So, I write this thread as a means to an end. If the creative mind that was Arena Net has moved on to bigger things then we need to stop looking to the sky for rain.
In other words, the game needs a resurrection, and I have a good feeling that someone out there remembered their Res.
How would you do it?
If you have an idea/suggestion/or some other gem of knowledge then by all means contribute!

I'll just start this out myself .
I think that a new form of PvP could help to bring the game back.
Personally, I'd like to see a weekend competition.
Sealed deck tournaments- 6v6- between guilds with in-game prizes*
[Nothing amazing, other wise i could see this being abused]

Stop taking an expression so damn literally.
Dying means there's barely any influx of players, the playerbase is shrinking and nothing new is getting done.

i wasn't ....
and a decreasing playerbase is only natural for every game , play something long enough and you get bored of it , most older guild wars players are now relaxing and waiting for guild wars 2 , but that doesn't mean there aren't new players , guild wars still has its "noob" players they gain every day as new people are playing the game
the request for new content is just a selfish desire ...

I personally think they should add a 6v6 arena again, then all forms of PvP will be complete there will be 4v4, 6v6, 8v8. They had 6v6 arenas in the early days of Guild Wars but removed them after the release of CA.

I think they need to pick up the PvP a lot. GW2 better have some great PvP or else it won't be that great. HA used to be a lot of fun and now it is dead. I don't know whether they should buff some skills to make allow more "fun" PvP builds or what. I would be happy to go back to the IWAY days if it meant more players in HA. There is no PvP gameplay anymore imo. PvE is great though.

People who want to get into PvP need coaching from others, and saying LEARN 2 PLAY NUB isn't going to do anything than drive them away.

Suggestions, Ideas, Anything but useless squabbling and random personal attacks will be welcome

We will most likely not see any new contents in GW1, so let's just focus on what we already got.
1. Take the least favorite profession ingame and make it your main for a while. Find out what makes it good, learn to love it.
2. Try out more gimmicky builds, don't get stuck with cookie cutter builds.
3. Meet new people in game, either by PUGs or by new guilds. (And yeah, sometimes you DO meet nice good players in PUGs).
4. If you mainly PVE, learn to enjoy PVP more.
5. And of course opposite if you PVP mostly.
6. Take on the challenge of making a survivor in Pre Searing.
7. Make absurd guild competitions with absurd prices.. for example.. first guildy to bring you Little Thom's Cloak AND a black bear from Pre Searing to Shing Jea monastery, still being level 1, wins 100k and a hug.

To be perfectly honest, I agree with you Bristlebane. To me it seems like I've interpreted my own thread the wrong way . On that note, without relying on Anet for our "rain"; Thrifty, inexpensive, and casual solutions could be what some people want.

Personally, I'd just use a res sig.
On Topic: I'd like to see a 10v10 mode where teams consist of one player of each primary profession, and no secondaries.

Good advice.
1. I tried this with Paragons. I'm convinced that most anything they can do, another class can do better. I refuse to play Necro or Mesmer hex spammers.
2. Gimmicks are amazingly fun in disorganized PvP. Bring Vengeance into FA and you'll see what I mean.
3. Sometimes. Not often.
4. Already love PvP. The disorganized kind, mind you.
5. PvE is too boring, IMO. This is why I never bought Eye of the North, nor will I.
6. I'm assuming you mean Legendary Defender of Ascalon. That's like what, 500 hours? No thanks, Vladimir.
7. Not possible (or is it?), but I like the concept.

People that want to get into PvP and have a good attitude usually make it. People that want to get into PvP and think other groups should make allowances for just them, tend to have adequacy problems in life.

Highlander. I could completely get behind this, though realistically it would pidgin hole both the monk and ritualist in defensive roles.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Even the Dervish might have to Armor of Sanctity + Signet of Pious Light to support the team...
EDIT: Oh, and uh, Highlander? Say what?
