RA Syncs - Gone?
Check out this update:
Update - Tuesday, September 1
Miscellaneous
* Nicholas the Traveler has been brushing up on his language skills.
* Kun Shao has gone on vacation until the Xunlai Tournament House is able to distribute points for the month of May.
* Fixed a bug that allowed teams to sync join in random PvP.
They claim it was a bug. Kinda funny, cause it wasn't a bug, it was simply the way the system worked.
So... are the syncs really gone now? It's been like at most a few minutes since this update hit, but I can't test it out for a while. I'd like to assume that ANet has got the whole thing down pat, but there's always a chance that there's a way to bypass it, or a chance that something isn't working right.
Anyone willing to verify that ANet's new system works? Does it affect FA and JQ as well? Any research into this would be highly appreciated, and not only from me.

I entered from an empty japanese district, so something's definitely changed.

I really don't mind them fixing syncing; I would just like a way to separate myself from PvErs with 400 health and shitty skillbars. As it is those players will inherit RA all to themselves - no one in their right mind will play RA anymore.

Same. I asked my teammates what districts they entered from - one was from id1 and one was from ad1.

Great let's ruin RA and remove TA all in one fell swoop. This is definitely the way to fix a dying game.

Pardon?
Ruin RA? RA is called RA for a reason. RA isn't called Sync Arena, it's Random arena. I'm tired of seeing guildies all together stomping and farming. It makes the gladiator title pointless to people who actually tried for it. Even if I'm the only guy left trying to do Gladiators properly I'm still going to enforce my belief.

i'd rather they improve the matchmaking system so we won't get ridiculously lopsided groups. it will make it less random, but the overall game would be better in my opinion.

very kool, now i can finally have the courtesy of landing in a team full of American nabs. a thing I could luckily avoid by going to either id or kor districts.
at least there wont be many perfect synch teams anyore tho....i wonder if it outweighs the evil named above...

wow, now I cant go and play with somewhat experienced people in Kr/Int dis. Getting glad points would be a lot harder once TA is removed, since high ranked glads will have to deal with american nubz in RA.

Pretty much this. Could get some decent players in ID/Korean, but streaks were often ruined by some sync hexgay or similar. Not going to enjoy playing with the trash that comes out of AD. This will likely rid RA of the remaining decent players killing time.

Those korean dist syncers should have been playing TA in the first place. Maybe we wouldn't have to deal with the TA removal and cheering masses of pve tards craving sealed deck to replace it now.

It's still possible to sync in random PvP areas.

It's still possible to sync. In fact, it's really not that much harder than it used to be :/

Most of the sync fools won't likely take this advice, as they were too bad to do well in TA in the first place. Anyway, apparently it's still very possible to sync at least 3 players in. Gotta love what that's going to do to glad title when TA gets removed and they can farm AD idiots as long as they choose.
Not that I place much faith in the Glad title anyway.

What I still fail to understand is why these super leet people, whose leetness can't be tainted by teaming up with "american dis trash" (yay for generalizations), are doing in Random Arenas in the first place.
You should be busy working on your Champ titles, Gold cape trims (training with good people in scrimmage) or holding halls all the time, no?
Enlighten me please on the reason why these people "hate RA", RA is too bad for them, but they do RA.

I fail to understand why Anet is bothering with this massive PvP update, arena/mechanic changes this late. Pretty sure "PvP love" was needed over 2 years ago.

That,
syncing now is much less reliable than it was, not impossible.
as previously said, i can see a lot of good players who were killing time in RA leaving for other formats (ha mabe) esp when TA has been removed (we'll have to wait and see if SD is anything resembleing fun)
