Suggestion for making TA more active / exciting
Hello everyone,
I read these forums sometimes but never seem to have posted. Anyways, the other day I was TAing with some friends and I was angry at because yes we were winning on like 40 consec or something but all we were facing was PvE idiots and other idiots etc and no competitive teams (TA is very very dead, Guild Wars is just dead xD). So yea I pulled an idea out of my ass of how ANet could possibly revamp TA. Perhaps this has been thought of before, I do not know. Please know whoru? threads, I know I will get a few cuz I said that, but this post is in no way meant to be elitist...on to the idea...
-TA will have a ladder / obs mode just like GvG, except the teams will not be viewable by guild, rather by team...
-You can register as a "team" with ANet with say 4 people as your core, and 4-6 alternates, and as long as you have 2 core, or 1 core 2 alternates or whatever, you are playing for YOUR team and if it is top 100 it will be observable.
-Now people are going to say but what about random teams and here is the solution...random teams can be made and get the same glad points as normal teams and can be obsevred if they face a top 100 team, however they are not observable vs a non top 100 team and will not earn rating points because they are not a team (redundant xD)
-The Rating System would be similar to GvG, +1/+2/+3 and the negatives and then there would be tournaments as well...
I know this will never happen and if it does it is light years away, but sometimes one can dream. I wrote this very fast and sloppily so if shit does not make sense please correct me. Thanks for your responses.

Wont make it anymore alive. Also id rather have a Hardcore update on HB/TA/GvG Skills & shrines than adding this...

TA = the deadest place in Guild Wars, with the possible exception of bloodstone fen.
Really, I tried it briefly in the double faction weekend and found it quite unplayable.
You're either guildies on vent running weirdass spikes or you lose to guildies on vent running weirdass spikes. There's absolutely no fun to carefully picking a 4 person team then just getting rolled by backbreaker RoJ or something else equally lame.
Shouldn't you be off synching on vent to end my hard earned RA streaks instead of QQing about no competition? Play GvG.

QFT.
No relaxed pressure play possible anymore, mixed spikes are everywhere.
But idk everytime I play TA what I meet is 1W 1R 1N 1Mo, 1W 2R 1Mo, 2W 1N 1Mo, 1W 2R 1Mo or 1W 3Mo.. always W R N Mo in some combination or another.
It's like there are no other professions.
You get sick from seeing Warriors, Rangers, Necros and Monks all the time.
I love Anets policy forcing you to take a Nec just because FF is so beyond overpowered (well LC is not as bad but OP too).
And Savage Shot needs 10 Recharge, its spamming makes me sick as well.
Compare with Punishing Shot and Disrupting Shot, srsly.
When you use an interrupt just to apply poison faster or compress damage for a spike because it is so cheap and spammable, something is very wrong.
Edit:
Ketsumi, the idea is very old and it will never happen.
Think of it like this: If Anet would really listen to even half of the suggestions they received and applied them on GW, no one would be going to buy GW2. They're saving all of the good stuff for GW2 that you'll have to buy.
It's like 'sorry, we won't fix gw.. but you can always buy gw2! it'll be awesome! there will be no more such problems and blablabla'
The next major balance/content update for GW is GW2.
You can tell just by knowing that from now on, balance updates for GW will be every 3 months instead of every month.
And srsly, look at the obsolete Zaishen Emote and the Iway Zoo, both two things that no one but Anet themselves wanted.
Who would not rather take an emote or a ladder for TA, or even one single new RA/TA/GvG/Ha map over the ludicrous zoo or such crap.
It'll never happen, maybe in GW2 there'll be something like a TA ladder.

wtf does this statement even mean?
if "playstyle" refers to a ranking system or a competitive tournament see hero battles or even that pve thing ,as mentioned.
Get back to debating the rise and fall of the fairy dust market please.
But yeah Ketsumi your beating a 4 year old dp'ed horse. Would have been fun but not gonna happen

I also like your idea but i have to agree with moko it will never happen because of two things.
1) Gw is balanced for 8v8 combat.
2) Anet just don't have resources needed for this. I can just imagine the amount of work it would take to implement a working ladder and all the stuff that comes with it.
I think this is also the reason there isn't much activity from the players anymore. Everyone knows anet's resources are stretched thin.
It would be nice however if something like this was added in guildwars 2.

Anyone else notice that what was describe was one of the areanas of WoW.
The PvP in GW2 is much like WoWs. Just wait X number of years for GW2 and then youll have your 4v4 ladder.

The only thing that will get people in there is the Z Combat. You should be happy there are random pvers in there. At least its something.

Yes but generally those players are terrible. You ask them to run a bar and they refuse (i.e. taking life transfer over lingering curse), not bringing shield bash/return etc.
