That's how Borat used to act, then they started getting ganked all night every night until he mellowed out.
Talking about how 'pro' you are in HA is a recipe to never win on 3-way matches.

I never got ganked because I had a big ego.
People, tough they will never admit it, gank for 1 reason and 1 reason only: jealousy.
When you're holding for a 5 HoH streak you'll start to see people simply taking out the blue team, to prevent them from winning.
It has got nothing to do with my ego, but rather with my reputation. People know I can hold pretty much indefinatly (Don't get me wrong, it's the HoH maps that are designed in such a way. If no ganked occures, blue should win 90% of the time -KoTH should be autowin with a good build, Cap points aswell, and relic run is still slightly random), and pull in more fame than they do, so they gank me. It makes them feel better, cuz they're under the illusion they "beat" us that way.
Or Mursaat (He mainly hates nick), he ganks us alot aswell cuz we always beat him on 1 on 1 maps. (I seriously can not recall loosing to him once, regardless of what build we, or he ran).
The only time I find myself ganking, is when I "owe" people a gank and when I skipped from UW/Fetid. (And even then, you'll barely see me gank, simply because I don't care about fame or the fame other people pull in)

People also Gank to aid their friends, for example, some of your friends are holding on a 15 consecutive match streak, you just jumped from UW to HoH, personnally i would Gank for them straight away.
Also, i think that most Ganks are not due to jealousy, most ganks happen cause of all the hate in HA, people are willing to give up on their chances of winning just to keep "that guy who called me bad" from winning.

Ganks in threeway maps are only because of:
1) Friends, if people are holding for a while and a friendly team get's to halls, they help the holding team. Sounds fair, eh?
2) Yesterday we beated some team 2 times through our way to halls, then another 2 times in halls. The fifth time they directly said: ok, now you won't win again and it was gg. This also includes people that think that some team deserved a gank for a recent unfair happening.
3) Some people are just plain idiots and just randomly gank a team to piss them off. Guess that makes their day.

Back in the day before 6v6, there was much better etiquette among players. Most teams that I played with would frown upon trash talking as many teams would immediately gank any team that trash talked. Also applied to dropping random AoE, attacking someone during a standoff, or not graciously accepting a gank.
I've seen, during the old standoff wait till 2 minutes, a team that had been holding for a long time, completely give up to gank just for one stray AoE. I've seen teams with holding build take no pressure, but just after 2 minutes spike out a teams ghost to let the other team cap, just because of one loudmouth on that team. Back then people tried harder to figure out why others didn't like them and tried to gank, even though the format at the time didn't have as much gank strength as the current format. Currently people deliberately create animosity, while never considering the possibility that it was why they got ganked in a format where ganks are a trump card.

God, I know we're get so much off-topic now, but RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO it:
I WANT OLD SCHOOL HOLDING BACK.
Broken Tower, Scarred Earth, I'm craving those maps. Gay as they could RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing be, I'll never forgot the crazy times on those map. They were actually FUN TO PLAY ON. Having the playerbase shrink from 8-10+ Districts to 2-4 districts of which only 50-60 actual PvP'ers. (The rest are PvE'ers simply "farming" HA)
That's another thing, back in those days, there was honor, respect and people still realized the value of fun in a game.

Meh, used to gank chamalee when he was finishing up r15 just to be an asshole and slow him down. The truth is we probably could have just right out won most of those matches, but his team raging in all chat is way more amusing. Plus, he started just ganking us on three way maps because we were raping them all the time.
Your point is pretty true a lot of the time though. However, a big ego does contribute as well because we never got ganked until Gym and I decided to shit talk every team we played the entire match. I didn't actually think I was awesome or anything it just made things more amusing.

its the shit hoh format is why ganks occur, remove relic and cap points, koth (get ganked when baddies get on the other team instead of the holding on purpose) and revise the system so everyone has equal chance at winning and possibly less chance of ganks imo
oh and bring back old school holding and your going to have some gayass holding shit thats worse than the 2 para 2 thump 2 monk shit

The thread is obviously getting old since it has moved from a discussion of Sway to ganking concepts. So how does everyone feel about 6 more weeks [see developers thread of every other month skill updates, (even if the last was terrible for the HA meta)] of the current Sway R/A metagame vs hexway (since this is about 90% of non-guild teams in HA)? Should anet roll back the skill updates or let this one run its full length?

people gank blue or the team making a winning streak ? too bad for best players it is probably one of viable strategy... not jalousy or else... not even sure pple do really care enough about others for that anyway.
Of course if you trash talk all other team you give them reasons... well that would be reasons to get banned aswell in any serious/official/mature competition.

I was going to say that for once in the history of GW the HA meta is better than the GvG meta.
Then we kept facing 6 R/A 1 order 1 monk teams.

If anything, I love facing that. Our bonder has mad energy when they attack. Dshot orders, and there you go, autowin.
You just got build warsed R/A-way.
But yeah, this:
Mo/P:
[Build Wars R/A + Hexway;ATCCxplScXdjtj9hJPEPA]
Should solve all your hexway + sway problems... Use it instead of your Rit, Mo/P...

I don't see how that works unless you're running a nightmare spike with a shitload of off monk party heals (life, recoup, 2x PwK)...but wait, who runs that?

As I recall correctly, 99% of HA teams ran the Mo/P after PnH got buffed.
This is exactly the same spot in the team, just adjusted to the meta.
You also don't see it work unless you're running a nightmare spike, lolwut?
If anything, it'll work better in a balanced, or a team with a taint. (To cover bonds)
Again, every team used to run the PnH, well now U can run this bar instead...

bonds were dead 2 years ago, when people got smart enough to bring enchantment removal. No matter how many covers you have, 1 rend on the bonder will screw you over.

With constant enchant coverings, either OoV or Taint bonds can be fairly protected. A rend spike is still a rend spike and requires the same reactive monking from the backline regardless of presence or absence of bonds, though suddenly one person no longer having the yellow arrow next to their name is a huge giveaway as to who is about to need attention.
Really a fairly well coordinated team can keep up bonds, the only things that really threaten a bonder are nature's renewal, mirror, chilblains (chilblains is pro), or monks that let the bonder get spiked out. Well, e-denial can hurt, but really when was the last time that was viable. It isn't hard for teams to call when their bonds go down, nor for the bonder to put them back up. As long as the teams can keep bonds covered and keep down NR, then bonds are not hard to keep up.
The reason bonds aren't run anymore is not about the ability to keep them up, its about their effectiveness. So much of HA is based upon AoE, Degen, Hexes, or some other non-attack damage. Face a team with less of their damage focused in the physical attacking and suddenly the bonder is much more of a wasted team slot.
I was protting in GvG recently and got so fed up with r/a's that I slotted life bond instead of spirit bond, even without a way to maintain it on everyone or any e-management for it, it paid of tremendously.
