Well, uhm, gratz GeAr!
I bet this is not the way you would have wanted to win Gold.
...or DirT to lose Gold.
I would have liked to see that match-up.
Re-match?

It's been well known since the iQ days that American guilds have an err7 machine.
At least you didn't lose any rating for it?

i liked how StS went 6/0 in the swiss rounds and was placed 3rd. and how a guild tried to run R/A's.

Is there any "EPIC QUOTE" thread on this forum? I vote for that one to be the best.
Really nice joke MT, I didnt rly care about us losing to dirt in semis, but when I saw them forfeiting..... just wow.

Sigh... I was all for GeAr winning gold... But NOT like this...
I'm rather disgusting by how they got gold, I wanted to see them EARN it. I am sure they feel the same way as well... :\

If they do they really shouldn't. Sure they should feel a little bad for dirt, but it wasn't GeAr's fault that it happened.
An mat isn't one game. It is an entire month of preparation, 6 swiss round games, and then 4 single elim games. GeAr competed at their highest ability in all of those facets except the finals because it didn't happen. GeAr still won 3 other single elim rounds, including a very convincing victory over a uP team that looked like it was on its way to gold after that win over rawr.
So while they should feel a bit sorry for dirt, they should not feel like they didn't earn this gold cape. They played great the whole tournament and it was no fluke that they made it to the finals. GeAr is a great 28 minute guild and would have had a good chance at beating dirt even if the match was played. Congrats to them and well deserved.

....I'm not stupid.
I never said they didn't deserve their trim. Ever. I know what they are capable of and I know how they performed this mAT and in previous mATs. I still stick to my opinion that I wanted to see them earn their cape on the final match. /shrug

Notice how the topmost match (of the GvG section) only says "Semifinals" and not "Finals"?

I blame ANet. Third match one of monks DC'ed which cost us that match... which would of meant no forfeits.
But would you care to explain why top 100 teams forfeit to a rank 500?
