EoE bomb, now that was a fiendishly fun build... Both to play and play against imo. Always good for a frantic 5 seconds.
Anet should have 'wacky overpowered builds' weekend.

You said precisely what I was going to say. This isn't even close.
The funniest part was we STILL had tards on forums proclaiming that dark aura spike "wasn't necessarily overpowered". Some of this talk came from so called experts as well...it was utterly hilarious. At least the sig of ghostly everybody knew was broken.

I do remember the ranger spirit spam thing, that was probably the funniest build I've ever seen, I remember on the first relic run map putting up prolly 50 spirits on each stair to the relic and the other team would just stand there and cuss.
EoE bomb was fun but it wasn't perfect I don't think I ever won HoH with it.
I agree, Anet should have a wacky friday or something, just one day, bring back all the broken stuff.

you are forgetting during the preview weekend for nightfall when people ran Contemplation of Purity Dervishes with a bunch of derv enchants, just rolled gvg and ha with that, though nothing does compare to sig of ghostly might but i would only concider that a bug

I think I remember a N/A pvp build with dark aura, I forgot what the other skills were >.< But there was a bugged skill that made u sacrifice 0 health each time you used it, but it would still trigger dark aura, and you would use shadow walk I think it was, and spam that bugged sacrifice skill for insane damage

Dark Aura, Signet of Ghostly Might and Sand Shards are more glitches than they are "builds".
They definatly were the most overpowered "builds", but it was just due to unintended effects...

I agree for SoGM and DA (even tought the later is just hilarious). For SS, I don't know. Maybe it's just that I like the concept, but I think it wasn't really a glitch, just that the build used a mecanic with the attack chains. SS worked as it was supposed to, compared to the other who were really the skills not working as they were written. They fixed the first 2 skills, but they didn't fix SS, just changed the way it worked.
Or maybe it's just the definition of glitch...

Relatively new = still close to 4 years ago.

most broken builds...
tripple Fear me steady stance scythe (and later on axe) warriors with healing signet and wild blow + frenzied defense monk (back in the days without defile defenses).
the old soul reaping abuse (bunch of spirits giving free energy to all necs all the time..) - hexways with spirit spam and usually a thumper or ele to finish the kills.
currently id also add shove spike because of Aegis and heart of shadow abuse.

Mentioned before, but yeah.
SoMW spike does it for me although there have been just utterly broken mechanics, this one was the most ridiculous build that didn't involve a broken mechanic.
Seeing "Korean Smiteball has won a battle in the hall of heroes and keeps the favor of the gods for Korea!" for hour upon hour was just insane.

The dual paragon holding build when HA was 6v6 was pretty broken. Unlimited energy for monks, 4 support characters, and barely enough damage to kill a target. It would hold for hours and hours.

EW's FoC spike is undoubtedly the most broken build that's ever been in the game, more so than spiritway or anything else. The build has never lost a game, and is impossible to direct counter.
I'd put the first SB/RI that was run in june 2006 or something as a good second. It would completely destroy you unless you'd have a stupid build with insane diversion chains and quatro convert, even then it could just split and take you down.
There have been dozens of other overpowered or really strong builds, but none of them to the extent as these two. These builds were practically uncounterable and really never lost a match.
I was on holiday during the sand shards weekend, but that only lasted 2 days anyway, if you're going to argue that way then signet of might beats everything.
