EDA only really owns in RA were there is no guarantee the other team has an ff/ps nec to reflect blind back on you.
But if the do nerf FF/PS ( namely PS ) like they should have done AGES ago, they should also nerf EDA since it will become much more viable if they don't

Basically it's because the formats are very unpopular and only used by a handful of people. HB might have more people in the outpost but only 1% of them play, the rest are playing blue wins and farming pro title.
Instead of using resources on a rework(HB) or balance(TA) they are (I guess) combining certain aspects of the 2 to create a more vigorous playerbase with the new Sealed Deck format.
While this rationale might not make much sense now, it will hopefully be more clear once the Sealed Deck is rolled out.
tl,dr: Because Anet says so.

The point is not whether they want to expend resources to balance it, we all know they haven't done so for years and probably wont ever. I'm asking why they need to DELETE it when they introduce SD instead of just letting it be. Knowing the instanced nature of this game I don't see how bandwidth could be a problem...

If I was to guess the real reason, I think it might have something to do with cutting resources. Guild Wars isn't making money anymore and they are probably trying to streamline upkeep and recycle servers into their new AION requirement.

HAHA, never happen. Look at the traffic RA gets compared to TA. Its 20:1 or better. RA is a much better format for the majority of people. Most (myself included) don't want to jack around with the hassle of building/rebuilding a team. Its a hassle just standing in the TA lobby with a G7 title on. Your constantly pinged with PM's and join requests over and over and over. Frikkin annoying.
RA is quick, simple, and much more popular.

Good old TA... not sure what to do after they delete it, it's quick pickup for me and my buds despite the small population of people who play it. I'm just trying to push the TA thread over 200 replies since it will be a new record.

Quasi-contribution:
It would make a lot more sense to delete RA in favor of the new format while leaving TA in place. Since the new format is will have a new interface that makes it easier to pug, why not? The only people left doing RA are the usual assortment of idiots and glad farmers, there are zero players that play it for fun and going with anet's "degenerate metagame" argument, RA is far worse than TA. Even though it's been a long time since I played TA regularly it does irk me a little that it's being shit on at the end instead of letting it die out on it's own. It's a double whammy since all of the retarded skill buffs are what killed TA not the format itself.

the servers are probably over some 1+Gbit/s unthrottled connection. Using bw as an excuse is pretty ridicolous ^^

I think she means bandwidth as in time/people/resources, not server bandwidth.
