mostly i get scared when i see a ranger carrying a short or recurve bow. i'm not usually good at managing my energy when i have to maintain guardians to reduce interupts.
paragons - whenever i see a paragon, i always think "DAZE!". what upsets me the most how powerful daze is, yet how easy it is to apply to somebody.
mesmers don't scare me as much as before now that i carry dual hex removal into RA.

Nothing, because most things can be dealt with either with help from teammates or your own abilities.
Unless you're in RA, in which case the previous still applies but less often (lots of monk hate, worthless teammates, etc).

This. Whenever I monk in RA and see all my teamates pinging the enemy monk when there's a PRage/Dev Hammer war, a mesmer and a necro in the team I just go "GAWD".
I don't monk in any other form of PvP because I'm not a good monk(I don't consider stuff like AB PvP btw >.>)

Yes, run far from me so that I may not heal or prot you. Then bitch and rage when you die, it was totally my fault. That's right, I'm looking at you Endure Pain scrub.

-heavy e-denial mesmers who shut you down completely
-when 3 people camp you together (in RA O.o) and spike you down in seconds, no matter if you have guardian and dark escape on
-everyone who thinks that if someone die is always the monk's fault
-frontliners who attack through empaty, ss, vor, ip, etc..
-assassins who attack through empaty, ss, vor, ip, etc..and die in seconds
-assassins in general..(both teammates and foes)
-not having learnt to use holy veil properly yet
and most of what the other posters said^^

for the 1st. just wep swap. i hardly ever have problems with edenial unless i get caught with pleak when i'm semi-low on energy
for the others you probably just have bad luck with people who don't know when to properly attack through those skills.

Yes, i actually swap weapons, and i use a +15/-5en on my defensive set because it helps me with energy management, but i was thinking about those mesmer builds with Ether lord and such who stays all the time on you negating your energy regeneration, so even swapping wep doesn't work..in these cases i have to spend most time keeping me clear of hexes etc, and it's very difficult to keep other alive too. I would really like in these cases my teammates to lineback and shutdown that mesmer, but in RA this is rare..
And yes, i wasn't saying that all assassins behave like that, i was saying what kind of things scare me the most^^

A perfectly timed shame in conjuncture with a spike is evil. High ranked guild teams pull this off every now in then on the infuse in HA, and it is pure rape if you are not prepared for it.

how can you get scared about RA when there's nothing on the line and the whole thing in itself is totally meaningless ?
things that make me press the panic button:
german spike guilds
good warriors... all 3 of them
and a mesmer with rend and pblock who knows how to use them

Enemy mesmer casting diversion/shame on me when I don't notice them casting it and me casting some key spell just when that diversion lands. Also random interrupting is sometimes scary when they get some lucky distracting shots hitting key spells and when you really can't play around of those random interrupts besides casting right after their interrupt.
Good players are not usually scary to play against, it is just challenging and there is usually way to play around. Random is sometimes just matter of luck and sometimes it makes it scaryly effective.

Gale pushes.
An ele can basically use gale 10 times consecutively to royally rape monks in conjunction with interrupts and warriors.
Dual mesmer builds, albeit old and not run anymore, nothing was more annoying than being shamed 4 times in a row.
I also hate deep strips since they completely negate proper protting

The only builds that really scare me, as in this is very difficult to deal with, is rspike in HA on most maps, some PoD spikes and hex pressure builds with 3 or 4 necros.
Annoying is a different category, e.g. a ranger in arenas with d-shot, magebane and savage that camps you at melee range and uses an interrupt every time you use a skill.
