does anyone else cycle through these 4 steps while playing RA?
Step 1 - try to play melee.
Step 2 - try to play monk.
Step 3 - try to play generic caster
Step 4 - lol guild wars

Hehe. I recognize step 1. I have always skipped step 2. Step 3 ?? What is that? A screen for wow or something, I don't get it anyhow. I guess I just skip from step 1 to step 4.

LOL, this is awesome & totally on point. It's so frustrating how many strong counters there are against melee, especially if you don't have the a monk's aid. Likewise, literally 90% of the time, immediately after I switch to my monk out of frustration from the above, or from never having a monk, I get 1 or 2 others in my party. Though I never played Starcraft, the few times I use E/x or Me/x, it feels like that Zerg rush screenshot. Ahhh, the joys of RA. LOL great post.

Probably the most accurate depiction of RA ever.
I play dev hammer and face 2 SS necros.
Caster I vs 2 of the best qknocks in gw history.
Monk I face VoRs and Soul Binds.

It does seem like you draw in more healers when you load a healer. I hear people complain about it all the time. I think it's just a matter of perception. The thing with monks/healers in RA is that very few of them actually run one in PvP enough to be proficient. They just load one because they are tired of not getting one, or they think its the easiest way to farm Glad points and/or faction. I actually win more 3v4 than I do with a gargabe monk/healer on my team.
The worst thing is when 3 or more draw in together, won't resign, and try to get wins through attrition. I know most of the monks that RA regularly, and the ones that know what they are doing. To a fault, they hardly ever stay with a 2 healer team longer than the first round, and they resign with more than 2. Its RA etiquette.

Step 2 is just awesome, I get it every 2 or 3 matches. I tried playing ranger for weeks and 99% chance to not get a monk, and when I decide monking I get 2, 3 or even 4 monks in my team.
Random arenas are not so random...Dr. Evil might be behind this for sure.

Haha made my day, used to cycle through the 4 steps, hell I'd go to step 3 then back to 1.
Now I just load into RA with whatever random character I choose to use once per week and hit step 4 after the first loss.

i play war mostly in ra so im used to the crap people throw on you. i dont mind getting hex overloaded that much really because i know i wont be stupid whereas i cant guarantee that for my teammates. sometimes if i see im going against a bunch of necs/mesmers and i have another war on my team, ill run out and draw all the hexes so that he doesnt kill himself. then i spear through the hexes enough to charge up adren with the least damage to myself and unload the instant im clean. it gets a lot of wins. here is a few tips i use when playing melee. fundementals! you can still q step even without attacking. be a human shield for your squishes. just because you are hexpiled + weakened doesnt mean you cant mitigate damage! body block, run in the way, stand close to casters with your weapon out, draw guardians, draw kiting, make them fear you! for ra ALWAYS bring a shock focus if you run shock. even if youre hexed piled you can still shock sigs, shock monks, shock key spells, and q shock off of other peoples knocks. because remember, if youre hexed up, you dont need energy for frenzy, shock shock shock!
and yeah, the part about team fulls of monks is so sad but true. monking with teammate monks is super hard cuz it ruins your energy management and you waste so much you end up losing.

I've noticed that most people in RA don't even play anymore. Traffic has dropped to 2 American districts in prime time and most of the people there don't even play. They just stand around on the beach like they were in 'There' or some other virtual chatting game. They just argue over things they don't know anything about, or use it as a venue to talk nasty and disgusting without their parents working their asses over.
Pretty soon, whenever I feel like logging on for some RA, I'm just going to go ahead crap in my pants and be done with it.

Do you play in American districts? That's pretty scary, because when I ran into you the other night I was coming from International (which would mean the districts are mixed now), also I was like YES NINEFINGERS WOOT LET'S GET 10, then you left.
Also I get 10 wins virtually every night I play RA.
Most of you are just bad.
Also only run hammer because axe and sword are terrible.

as for the mixed districts, i believe thats how they 'fixed' the syncing problem. they just made it one supermegagiant thing.
as for your comment about hammer >> axe>> sword. i disagree with you about the hammer vs axe. sword is pretty meh, maybe pressure if you play it right, i agree. if you have good micro, its just a matter of preference. yes hammer has kds, but so does axe IF you can land your bulls. (i emphasize if because soooo many warriors cant). a perfect q knock with a hammer is great, but with all the b stance monks out there you need wild throw, and with wild you lose shock, you know, the always there for you kd(the one you dont need to attack through anti melee hexes to charge adrenaline for). if you micro well with axe, and d-chop things, you are extremely effective. axe lets you play much better pressure also, and in ra you can easily over pressure a monk if you play right. and im not talking p rage, too many people dont kite in ra, so i use evis. many people underestimate the power of d chop in the hands of a competent warrior. its all about micro. if you are good at stance micro and skill usage frenzy isnt a liability. a lot of hammer wars i see dont q knock, so they are wasting a huge effectiveness of the build. and unless you micro right on a hammer, you are much less effective than axe. but if you have good micro on both, its just a matter of preference. i have trained myself extensively on both, and am very confident in my micro abilities. i find axe to be more effective because of the enormous pressure i create.

not trying to troll you but pointing out the truth, you like running hammer because you aren't too good at canceling frenzy.
also, coward axe ownzzz. no srsly.
but i kinda wish they would have found another solution for syncing because now i keep getting whammos/rangers with pets but no pet skills/mesmers without interrupts or enchant removal etc etc.
